Sorry, the PM was from me. I was just asking about the documents that you supplied re: your residence in the island of Ireland.

We live in Belfast too. My partner will apply for Irish citizenship in a year or so so I'd like to get everything sorted in advance.

Thanks so much
CC

PS: I'm not sure about the EEA2, but I wouldn't think that they would need to see it. I would email the citizenship guys and ask if they will need to see it: citizenshipinfo@justice.ie. Sorry to disappoint you!

Hi, I called the citizenship helpline today and asked about upcoming ceremonies. I told them that I sent my fee and GNIB card to them at the start of September and that I wasnt invited to the ceremony in Galway. I told her the approval letter I got stated that i would be invited to a ceremony in the next 2-3 months. If I dont get to go to a ceremony until January it would be 5 months that I am without a GNIB card and unable to travel, including going to see my family for christmas. I told her I would have waited until the new year to send my stuff away if they had not stated it would be 2-3 months.

She told me that there is 100% going to be another big ceremony in Dublin before the end of the year, probably at the start of December. She seemed pretty adamant that this was definitely the case..... so if anyone else is awaiting the ceremony fingers crossed!

YES! It is very likely there'll be a large citizenship ceremony for late November or early December of this year as things are presently.

Having just spent weeks sorting our application out, if I could go back in time I would make sure we kept more printed bills etc.

Most bills were in my name so in hindsight I would have added both our names to the bills to make things easier. Also a lot of banks charge you to stamp your online printed statements so it would be handy to switch to paper billing if you don't get that already.

Being in N.Ireland you need to get a PSNI DAT1 (http://www.psni.police.uk/index/support ... quests.htm) close to the time of application, ours took about 10 days.

I sent ours in a nice organised file with an organised categorised list of documents in the hope it may make things quicker (probably wont).

I am also from belfast so if you need a hand let me know, the process is slighty different for the North as we don't need gnib card etc

I think it will help if you submit organised application, that exactly what i did, easier for them to work with your files.
Chaoclive: give them all the requirements for your partner's application that you will see in INIS website. The only thing is not stated is the document from PSNI if your from N.Ireland
