They say its gone to minister. Actually the 1st time I heard that its gone to Misnister was back in late july. There is no process in place where you can follow up once its been sent to minister...

Hi every one

I sent my husband application for citizenship as Irish spouse mid of Dec 2014 and week after we received the 1st acknowledgment letter.
we moved to an new house and we send them to inform them about the new address and the sent us confirmation letter..

from that time we didn't received any correspondent ?

we did move 4 times during the last 3 year depending on my job location ! Dos that will affect his husband application
and I am back to education now and on the social well fare payment is this as well will slow his application...

Thanks

soco

I've seen people here applying as spouse of irish citizen and it looks like it is taking forever, why's that? It shouldn't take so long! If I apply as spouse of EU (5 yrs) will it take so long as well? I ask that because my partner is naturalising as Irish, so I dunno what to do... :?

Hello mate,
citizenship precessing time is something like BINGO, you could get it within few weeks and you could spend months and months waiting , no measures no nothing only apply and you will know- not before that-. Good Luck ;)

How do you know that you will not receive the second stage letter in the future?

@omoba123

No one can claim the knowledge to answer your inquiry ... no one know anything ... we are all blind .. As I have said it's BINGO no rules nothing that you can understand ..... all you will hear is guessing not one simple fact. the only fact you will know well enough is ... "WAITING"

Maybe they have a backlog or something.

Having said that, There were a couple of cases, mainly spouse of Irish citizens, getting approvals straight without receiving the second stage letter.

yeah , I agree with you , you could get it tomorrow morning or the week after , All am saying that it depends on which persona is the one dealing with your file, We have had members here got their approvals in less than 3 and half months and some others who got it in 3 month on the dot. and at the same time people here waiting for more than a year like good few am one of them. Good luck for everyone and W A I T with us. :)

Well after a year of waiting I received a bad news today that my application have been deferred by the minister.

"The Minister has decided to defer any final decision on your application until August 2016 in order that she might be so satisfied.

This office will be in contact with you again at that time."

Guess that's means re-apply again by then so..lol a year waiting for that sucks alright.

Good luck ladies and gents n hope u get urs approved soon.. :D

Cyanne - I'm so sorry that you got this answer!

Sorry if I didn't follow before, but what was the basis for disapproval? on what basis did you apply?

Others - does this means that they will probably release more approvals/disapprovals? are these things happen in batch so we should see answers?

sorry to hear that Cayanne.. the good news is that you dont have to apply again in august 2016.. they will resume your application on august 2016 and send you a letter that they are processing it etc.. fingers crossed you would be still in ireland by then!
I'm officially diagnosed with INIS "processing" phobia

Hello there banana07! Hope you are doing well

Does this mean we can start seeing answers this week? Are the approvals from the minister are done in one big batch for all the applications which piled up?

I applied as spouse of irish citizen on Feb 2014.. I had one traffic offences on 2008 (no insurance, insurance company make a fool of me on the little fine print due to the fact I'm a provisional driver.Judge originally convicted me to pay €400, endorsement on my licence, 5 penalty point and 2 years banned from driver but after hearing my plea, he change it to €100 and 5 points penalty)

I guess a conviction in a traffic offences regardless big or small is a big no no for the minister.

I do hope they are sending out letters now but you have to call inis to get a definite answer as I can't speculate and give you false hope..

I hope I'll still be here in Ireland..lol I have only myself to blame cause I let it too long before I apply..should have applied when my rep sheet in Ireland in beautiful instead 10 yrs later after a big buzz up with my traffic conviction..lol my husband and I was made redundant the time I applied and he was on job seeker allowance n me claiming as his dependent.

I just wish there's a way to appeal my situation with the defer instead of just sitting here n wait till next year..bahh lol
