So they don't even care about the 30 working day rule anymore? Just unbelievable.

Hi everyone,

I've been reading this thread since quite a long time now. Just logged in to let you guys know the situation I'm in right now.

I applied through VFS Mumbai with the standard visa service (not priority)

My timeline is as follows:
29 July - Applied for my VISA online
02 August - Biometrics taken and interview done
04 August - Got a text from VFS saying my application has been forwarded to the UKVI
14 August - I got an email saying that my application will now be considered by the ECO
16 August - The VISA status website (https://contact-ukvi.homeoffice.gov.uk/ ... visastatus) updated my status as decided and I will receive the decision within 10 working days. (My IHS number was unrecognised so I used the GWF number and fortunately it worked)

I am still waiting for VFS to contact me regarding the collection of my Passport. I think I'll probably get it latest by Monday.

I applied on 11th July. No update as of yet. Called their helpline today, they said my application was considered as in currently awaiting decision. Does anyone know what that means?

So does that mean they consider it but only updates the decision when they feel like it?

Check this with your GWF no. now.. I still get not recognised

When were you planning to travel? I put down 4th October, maybe they are processing applications according to date of travel.

Btw, did you get any emails other than the one saying your application was being prepared for consideration by ECO?

Could you guys share your expected date of travel? Maybe they are processing, October travellers last, and September ones first.

Mine is the 16th of September, and I saw someone who was scheduled to fly on the 21st of august still waiting for his/her visa. So I don't think they really care about the intended day of travel.

This doesn't make any sense. I don't see why it should take this long. Maybe we have all been assigned to the same ECO who is clearly not very good at his job.

True. But taking this long to process standard applications are inexcusable. Their own website claims that all non settlement applications are processed within 6 weeks and most within 3.

Hi,

But is there any other way out ,Cause the response from email and phone representatives are the same that you need to wait for the decision and the universities tell you that we need to wait cause there is a huge backlog.......
