Hey Sunil,

No I did not receive any mail like yours. I just got a call from the High Commission and she asked whether this is a good time for a interview.

The interview went on for around 15 mins. She asked for all the details like where I was working previously, questions about my field, how the current company hired me, who took the interview, where will I stay in UK, is my family travelling with me etc. In short just general questions about the trip, and as long as we are genuine it should not be a problem.

I guess the reason for the delay and the interview in my case was because I had mentioned in my form that I want to go for 6 months, as my contract is for 6 months. The interviewer asked me does it make sense to go just for 6 months on a work visa. I told her that my contract is going to extend after the 6 month period (which is true, our industry works on short contracts only but they keep renewing it. i do VFX for movies.) Once she was convinced about this, I got 3 years 1 month visa in 2 days after the interview.

Hope that helps.

Hi mental4vray,

Thanks for the information. Much appreciated, I'm still awaiting for the update from the UKBA on the status . The online status still shows "forwarded to British Commission".

@Hyderabad centre applicants - any idea how long it takes for the processing of Tier 2 General visa now a days ?

@ moderators : Any advise on this please ?

Regards,
Sunil

Hi Sunil,

We are on the same track. I have submitted my application 30th Dec 2013. I received the same mail as mentioned below.

"In order to assess your visa application we need to carry out further checks. A decision on your application shall be made as soon as we receive the results of our enquiries.
I am afraid it is not possible to tell you exactly when we will receive these results. However we will contact you as soon as a decision has been made".

We cannot do anything, except just waiting for the output from the UKBA.

Hope we would get it as soon as earlier.

Thanks
Srikanth

Hi All,

Today I have received an email from cases team stating that they have scheduled an interview for me with entry clearance office on 4th March'14. Any idea whether it would be telephonic or personal. Any ideas what they would be asking in the interview ?

Earliest response would be very much appreciated.

Regards,
Sunil.

Hi All,

I have been reading the posts by some of you. I see there are telephonic interviews being conducted by UKBA. Is this happening for every application for Tier 2 General or is it case specific?
It will help if u can share the questions being asked.

Hi Sunil: I dont feel they will ask anything special other than your sponsor, your office location and other general stuff why I'm saying this because one of my friend was also interviewed by Entry clearance officer in May 2012 and the officer asked all general questions to him.

hope everything goes fine in your case.

Thanks

Can you please share the details of the interview?
What types of questions were asked and so forth etc.
