I think we will not get any updates today and tomorrow because of the strike. The waiting times on the ukba website also has not been updated which is normally updated starting of each week and still says

'During the week commencing 1st March 2010 we expect to be considering applications that were received on or before 27 January 2010. Please note that this timescale is a guideline only, and some cases may take longer to consider.'

Yes, it is fine until HO receives your application before your visa expiry date.
As far as the processing timeline is concerned, its taking more than 5 weeks for processing even a straight forward application. Please bear this while you apply.

All the very best for your application.

RCAM037 wrote:I am travelling to France for two weeks prior to my current visa expiry (HSMP issued 15 June 2008, expires 15/06/10).

I arrive back in the UK on the 29/05/10 and plan to have my application ready to send on that day. Is this enough time? I don't expect there to be any issues as my application should be very straight forward.

But am I still entitled to stay in the UK as long as the HO has my extention application? Is there a letter I need to obtain before expiry or does my original application form just have to be with them by the time of expiry?

I would be so grateful for advice in this matter.

Hello all,

I plan to apply HSMP to Tier1 Extension in next few days and below are my check list items. Can anyone please confirm that everything is fine or
missing something?

1. Cover Letter
2. Application Form (only the required sections. For e.g. No dependent so can ignore dependent form sections)
3. Photos - 2 Nos
4. Passport
5. Age proof - Birth Certificate
6. Qualitication - Degree Certificate
7. Earnings & UK Experience - 12 month payslips, 12 months SAVINGS ACCOUNT statement (this is where my salary got credited), Letter from employer
8. English Requirement - Letter from Institution used at the time of intial HSMP
9. Maintenance Funds - Same 12 months savings account statement.

Thanks

Hi You don't need to send No 5, 6 & 8. the rest is ok. keep ur application as simple as possible and to the point.

thanks go2khurram....

I have another question.

I got married recently but not applying for an dependent visa now. I do not have my marital status changed in passport and not received the marriage certificate yet. If i mention the status as MARRIED in the extension form do i still need to give marriage certificate even though not processing dependent visa

Comments are welcomes from others as well....

I will send along with an self addressed stamped envelope.

Can you help me to find the

(i) Home Office reference nos (section B10 in the form)
-- Is it the one that is end of the HSMP approval letter that starts with H?

(ii) Worker Reference nos (section b11 in the form)
-- Is it the work permit no?

Thanks mate... You too have a good weekend...

For recorded delivery, yes they require you to be home (or someone else on your behalf) to sign the receipt or otherwise they drop a note with instructions on where and when to pick the package... normally its the nearest post office and next working day.
