hi guys quick question regarding the eea2 application

me and my girlfriend are unmarried but we live together for more than 3 years in UK. I am EEA national she is not!

Can we apply for a residence card of a family member of an eea national on the basis that i am a EEA national and work in UK?

if so what rights is she going to have in uk ? can she work?

Hello,

I have sent a reply to your messege. If you have lived together for 3 years it should not be a problem but you will need to provide thorough evidence.

Once she gets the RC, she will have rights as a family memeber as long as you continue in the relationship. That means to live, work and travel in and out of the UK.

I did however have a problem with working while waiting for my RC. Unlike a married partner I did not have automatic right to work and when my privious visa expired (after I apllied for RC) I had to wait before seeking employment. What sort of visa is your girlfriend on now?

Most likely, i know someone who applied on the 07 march 2011, COA recieved, and he is still waiting for the RC.

HO received - 8 March 2011
COA (certificate of application) received - 26 March dated 23 March 2011

my timeline:

Application sent: 23/03/2011; received by UKBA 24/03/2011

COA received: 13/04/2011; dated 06/04/2011

Made passport return for EEA national on 14/06/2011 due to travel for work, said will send by 28/06/11

Received UKBA request for additional evidence i.e. wage slips and/or letter from employer on 25/06/2011, dated 23/06/11.

additional documents sent on 27/06/11 by special delivery.

Further enquiry about passport return on 04/07/2011, they did not even dispatch it. send another request asking for urgent return...hopeless.

waiting for RC...

hello everyone
i received today my RC but on an A4 paper,it took exactely 3month ,
ps they did not send my passport back instead a astatut document whith a visa of 5 years in it
i suspect that they lost my passport .
it is easy for me to get anew passport from my consulate but what to do next to have my visa print on my passport not separetely,??

Hi guys, I've just received my RC!

I'd like to thank everyone who posted their timelines before, which helped so much so here's mine for those who's still waiting:

Application sent Feb 21
Home Office received Feb 22
COA received March 21
RC received May 26

FYI, I applied as a married person. Good luck to the rest who's waiting!

I sent my application on 27th March 2011. So far I've received no acknowledgement from UKBA, as in no Certificate of Application COA.

hi guys..
just wana share my case and thanks to you guys on this site with the advices and the stories/cases on here.
after my 1st application was refused coz of the case worker says my EEA-partner ID CARD not seen as valid. re-applied the 2nd time with a valid passport of my EEA-partner and as follows:
sent new application :19th april 2011 ukba got it next day.
:19th MAY 2011 received COA dated 11th MAY, and to live/work in uk.
:28th MAY received RC in the post(that was a biggest surprise ever) RC was dated 20th-may 2011, just a month of application. still unbelieveable. but it was issued on a A4 paper and my passport not sent with it.. so the struggle continues to try get my passport back

Hi Guys

Just want to say thank you for all the timelines posted, really keeps one motivated through this terrible waiting period.

Here is my timeline:

12 Feb 2011 - EEA2 Application sent (Been with EU Partner 4 years)
12 March 2011 - COA received, stating that I'm not allowed to work

Total waiting time so far: 110 Days!!!

I really do hope that I will receive my RC soon

Are there any people that applied in February and received their RC yet?

I tried several times but I had no success!!
I've sent my documents since 03 of March and until now I have not received anything from there.
I'm brazilian and I married a Bulgarian.

Hi Guys,

Just to give all you guys some hope, I received my RC today, dated 19th May!

I really thought that it would be denied as I overstayed on my 2 year visa for almost 7 months before I sent my application...

Here is my total time:

Sent application: 12 February 2011
Residency Card received: 1 June 2011

TOTAL WAITING TIME: 3 MONTHS AND 16 DAYS.

why on earth some people did not get their passport back??? if they are already granted a RC (even on A4 which doesn't sound very professionaly), why keep the passport? umm...

HI eveyone,

I have sent my document and i am on waiting perio. The question i ask, as someone told me but i am not sur if is true. is it true after i sent my document it's possible to ask for Inssurance number to go to work while you waiting your case to be confirmed (Residancy)?

PS: i am non EU i came here without visa (illagly) and we just got married i sent my EEA2.
