I agree, im assuming if they were going to reject as soon as they look at the paperwork and decide there is something missig or not right, they'd reject straight away.

Its a shame they're taking so long, but i think they're delaying processing your application, but its not a rejection,

Fingers crossed you hear very soon! :-)

Not good changes but not as bad as I thought either. They where talking about £27,500 which would stop a lot but this is not as bad as I thought anyway. The 5 year rule now is a little tough, I am planning many trips and holidays for me and my wife, so everytime I want to go into Europe or anywhere I have to apply for her VISA, also looking at trips to the US, so not sure how i do this but thinking it is goign to be tough, time connsuming and costly to keeo getting out of UK visit visas for her.

Oh well - Need to get my wife here first I guest anyway....

But still not as bad as I thought....

I agree with you on that Paz, having to wait 5 years is really long and all the travels will be a little difficult in that duration. However i think that 5 year probation period will apply to people who apply from July 9th? I am really hoping that is the case :)

I think that will be case for sure, I just hope I hear before then, as depending on what the rejection is (if I get rejected that is) I may just reapply rather then appeal. Also i just read the rules, the 5 year is a killer not only on travel but also you have to prove the salary again and more if you have kids....

I am fortunate right now with my job and salary but 5 years anything can happen..... Also I am not going to wait 5 years to have kids either..... So a bit of a killer.

These wont affect us though for sure.... unless we re apply after 9th July

if your wife has already applied and the visa is granted then the new 5 year probationary period will not apply to her.

Also Kartik, I maybe flying out, so we should meet up if I come as I will be in Anand.

Hi,

im planning on going on holiday once my husband returns too, does anyone know how it works,

We want to go on honeymoon soon after he returns, but need to know if hes allowed in any country whilst on the settlement visa or if there are restrictions?

Many Thanks,

M

There are no restrictions that I am aware off.

Its only when you apply for ILR and your husband has been out off the country very often that you will need to proof.

Please dont take my word for it, I am sure someone with more knowledge about this will correct me if I am wrong.

If he is travelling to India he will be fine of course, but anywhere else he needs a visa (£35 it costs I think), I think one for surope is called - Schengen Visa, dont quote me on that, but I know for a fact to travel in europe, and 99% of countries you will need a visa

My status has changed to "your application is being sent to the application centre. Please wait untill it is ready for collection"

Fingers crossed.... Hopefully I wont be flying to India now, save that £600, and spend it on my lovely wife in stead....

Fingers crossed

Also does anyone know the collection times for AHM are, and when it changes to that status, do you know how long it takes to "ready for collection" is it pretty much next day?
