Don't do another TB test, it's not required, they won't kick up a fuss about it provided you have a copy of the first expired test with you upon entry to the UK.
King2be98,

Can you please advise, I am currently still awaiting a update on my wife's visa application but wanted some info.

When my wife finally does get the visa granted, is there a certain amount of time she is allocated to leave for the UK.

I have seen on this forum and spoken to a few people and have been informed a variety of different things.

Some people have advised you have to fly to the UK withing 28 days and the other one I hear regularly is that within 3 months of recieveing the visa as they grant a 27 months visa.

Second one make sense but you you be able to give me a answer.

Appreciated, Ismail

You have up 3 months to travel to the UK, I would recommend you get to the UK as soon as possible.

I cannot for the life of me understand why people delay their entry to the UK when they have a VISA granted.

27 month VISA is issued, to be granted ILR to the UK, you need to be in the UK 24 out of the 27 months. So basically if there is an emergency or a wedding or something like that, if you take 3 months to get to the UK, you cannot go to the emergency abroad or wedding because otherwise you'll have to file for another settlement VISA.

Travel to the UK as soon as possible, don't wait for the 3 month mark even if it's allowed.

how to meet MP

Post by dr_bhx » Wed Oct 31, 2012 9:30 am

Hello friends,
My wife applied for visa from Lahore on 14/06/12.
We have not heard anything so far. I do see May applicants getting reply which is great, at least things are moving.
I am planning to meet my MP so that he can help me get some update/speed up my case.
I wanted to know from fellow members who have met their MP's how should I approach this subject? My MP is from conservative party. Are they as helpful as Labour people?
What email/address/telephone should I give him to contact Islamabad?
Shall I email him or get an appointment and see him in person?

Please advise.
Thanks

Hi brother,
As you would have noticed UKBA is making decisions on June applicants so you should be getting a reply in the next couple of weeks Inshallah.
I have contacted my MP twice and UKBA has only replied with a generic letter to my MP after one month saying that the processing time can take up to 24 weeks. They will not speed up any applications unless there is a reason like serious illness or death in the family (God Forbid).
Of course all MP's work differently and you might be lucky with you MP. Go on google and find out who your MP is. An MP will know who to contact at UKBA.
Just thought I'd share my experience with you.

You can go and pick it up... it is a good idea to call to make sure its there, but if your local just go down more than likely it will be there and you just wait in a queue after 2 pm

I have. My wife lived in the UK as my spouse for nearly 3 years. She went back to Pakistan and applied on 14/06/2012 from Islamabad
