Hello everyone,
Hope your all well
I handed my spousal application in on the 26th of November
However I was wondering if anyone knew if the current
Situations of imran khan, closing pakistan on certain dates
Will mean that the islamabad embassy is closed too?
Or does the embassy still run no matter what and only
Close on public holidays??

Could someone please get back to me regarding this
Cause im just worried that my application is at a standstill
Until god knows when xx

Salam everyone,

Last week my status was in progress and today I made a query about my status and this is what they replied back

Thank you for contacting the UK Visas and Immigration International Enquiry Service. Regarding your query, we have now escalated your case to our higher authorities as there are no current updates in relation to your application. We will be back in touch as soon as we receive a response.

I noted your status says "with ECO".
How long ago did you get the message from the visa people saying its "with ECO"?
Did you get an earlier email saying "initial assessments are completed, and will be given to the ECO"

I got this reply from ukvi on 16th October:

" I have tracked the status (GWFxxxxxxx and date of birth
xx/xx/xxxx) and found that your application has not yet been assessed by an
Entry Clearance Officer (ECO)."

On 7th November:

"Your initial pre-assessment has now been completed and your application is
with the Entry Clearance Officer awaiting further checks and enquiries.
Once these checks are completed, your application will be processed and a
final decision will be made."

Got this reply today:

"Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration International Enquiry
Service.

I noted all the previous contacts you had with us in relation to the
Settlement visa application, I am sorry to learn that you are still
awaiting for an outcome.

Please note that we have escalated the matter to the relevant department.
As soon as we receive a response on this matter please be rest assured that
you will be immediately notified. It does take a few days for this process.
The escalation reference number for this escalation is : xxxxxx.

For any further details, or should you need to contact us again please
refer to our website at https://ukvi-international.faq-help.com/, select
appropriate country, click next and then select “E-Mail form and complete
as instructed. We will aim to come back to you within 1 day.

Kind regards,

@Moa7 & PAK101 -

I received a message two weeks ago after escalation saying "...initial pre-assessment and online verification conducted. Application is in Entry Clearance Officer’s queue for further assessment and checks/enquiries..."

Now today I received another message after escalation on Monday saying "...Your application is under the process for further enquiries – checks. Your visa application centre or the entry clearance officer (ECO) will contact you once a decision has been made or, if necessary, during the consideration of your application..."

Can't really tell how long this whole process is going to last!

I made a big official complaint about PK Visa Processing at the Home Office and Chief Independent Inspectorate 17 days ago launching an official investigation.

About everything from Feb-Jul.

Very happy to see many being given and looked into.

Anyway, I've reached Pakistan yesterday and in the morning I'll be going to Gerry's VAC Mirpur to collect my wife's result...

Hi I am new here :) I am currently working so that I can call my husband over. I have two months of bank statements right now. I was wondering what impact it would have if I was to change my job right now so two months bank statements/payslips/employment letter would show a different job and the 4 months bank statement/payslips/employment letter would show a different job. Does this matter as long as you are getting the money in every month?

Hi Ayesha,

You'll have to work for 6 months in your new job before applying as you recently started working you'll not be able to provide 12 months bank statement required for Cat B.

From Appendix 2:

3.12 Has your sponsor been in employment with the same employer and earning the amount, as detailed in 3.11 above,
continuously for 6 months prior to the date of the application? (Category A)

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

How does one go about escalating a case? I emailed them under the status and asked if the initial assessment was done. They just reply with the same message.

'We understand that you would like to know about the current status of your
visa application. I have tracked the status (GWF** and date of birth*) and found that there are no current updates.'

The last 3 status checks have been that exact message.

You need to send the following in email to escalate and get a sensible response.

1. Type of escalation: No record found
2. GWF Reference Number:
3. Passport Number:
4. Name of the applicant:
5. Date of Birth:
6. Country where applying:
7. Location of the VAC:
8. Type of visa:
9. Date of biometrics:
10. Brief reason of your query:

Hi thanks for the reply, so does that mean if I change my job 4 months before applying but earn over 18,600, will I have to apply under category B and with 12 months worth of bank statements?

I think the TB/Polio is checked at Islamabad. Also, make sure nothing dodgy is in the suitcases because they do check throughly.

I need advice on accommodation requirement asap please.

I am looking to rent a double room in a shared accommodation soon. The landlord is happy for a couple (me and my partner to live there). Someone else is living there in the living room so there is no living room at the flat. I will rent the double room which is decent size. This will definitely be a HMO (houses with multiple occupants).
Does anyone know if this meets the accommodation requirement of UKVI? Their website is not clear about HMO.

I will get a housing inspection report. I've spoken to a few solicitors and they say the only thing that will be taken into account is the size of the room and how many ppl will live in the room only so I should be fine. BUT I spoke to the council and they said that flat will be over-crowded (although the officer did admit he didnt have much experience with housing inspections for immigration purposes). I get the feeling that it is up to council at the end of the day to decide. I spoke with a chartered surveryors firm as well and they say it is OK and wont be over-crowded. I'm hearing different things.

Does anyone have experience of submitting tenancy agreement for a double room only in a shared accommodation that is a HMO as part of their visa requirements? Any advice on that?

Any advice will be much appreciated. I will need it asap please.

A one-bed flat is very expensive to rent in London so if possible I dont want to rent a one-bed flat only to live there for 6 months on my own while visa is processed!

I had two jobs and a business when applying, but I only applied with one job... and with that job, 3 months into the payslips, I had been promoted. I still carried on as both were at the same company and the pay was +20k either way.

I'll know in a few hours if that impacts the case decision.

Stupid, non-sensical 18.6k requirement. 18.6k earning in Midlands is like 13.5k in Lancashire, for living.

Had they been honest and sincere about all they say, they would have gone off the Living Wage for your area, and calculated thus. This is all bogus really.

Good luck to all those going to collect their passports, and inshaAllah all those who are still waiting will receive good news very soon!

I'm still in shock and can't believe that my missus has got her visa! :D

I'm still checking this forum everyday to see how everyone is getting on, and so if anyone needs any help or guidance please feel free to ask and I'll do my best to help answer questions about applying with 2 jobs using Cat A and so on.

Oh and if I can give one bit of advice to those looking on submitting an application soon, it is - Don't take the "Solicitors" word for it! Do the research, get info from different sources, compare info, check requirements, make a list, check things off, and triple check everything.
Write down everything you need, and make sure you have everything ready for when you submit your application.

By the grace of Allah - visa issued.
Applied 7th July 2014- Islamabad.

Good luck to those waiting.
I have noticed post July applicants are getting processed more quicker.

Was bit worried reg the accommodation requirements. My advice: The property inspection report is a must. It should state clearly that there is enough space and won't become over-crowded.

See my previous post.
I was in a similar situation as yours. The property inspection report is a must. It should state about not getting overcrowded. Mine was a 3 bedroom house though. Living 4 ppl incl the new applicant. The rent contract was on my name.
For 2 bedroom property - 3 ppl is max so you should be ok. Make sure the flat rent contract is in your name. What your council stated makes 90 % of similar properties in UK as overcrowded !

They may or may not enquire your council. This is a risk you have to take I guess.
