Sounds encouraging.

Could you be kind enough and share with us which papers you submitted with your application?

We came to Ireland in 2005.
We never lived in another EU country before coming to Ireland. We are married since 1999.
We were in Portugal together on two occasions in 2007 and I was once by myself last year before applying for EU1.

Thanks a lot for this update - may I ask one more specific thing?

Sorry for being a pain about this detail, but this is important for those who are not as lucky as you going through the process without trouble:

Did you supply any specific evidence about your stays/visits to Portugal?

Otherwise I assume they still cling to their (illegal) "prior residence" rule, but saw from your passports that such "residences" took place.

Thanks!

It is always a pleasure to help, but we went through a lot of stress with this whole thing.

Yes you are ritght! I was there on one occasion for 7 days. And two other times my wife and I were there for 4 days.
There are 3 Portuguese in/out stamps on my passport.
Besides that we've got married in 1999, which is a long time ago and its shows no marriage of convenience. I think!

All the best!
