@sraz,i applied for settlement visa on april 2nd from cochin.I called VFS today and they told me the current processing time for Cochin is 63 working days.So lets hope we get it by next week.

@ant06 - They dont really call the employers..,but for some rare cases, they may call employer just to clarify their doubts....

@kdpatel,

plz find one of my old posts in the same thread where i have mentioned the possible questions they might ask at the airport... also b prepared for the chest x-ray which they might ask as they have asked us for a while now...

if u dnt want to get it done in india, they will tk u to health room where an x-ray will b done at the airport which in turn will just increase the wait time in queue... so better b prepared....

in my case, they didnt ask anything n just sent me to the health room and their machine wasnt working... so they just said that we might send u the details of whr to get the x-ray done... but the letter never came(may b coz i had visited UK in past)....

Hi All....

Congrats tothose who have got the VISA granted, I know a couple of you have kept in touch visa Facebook so I was lucky enough to congratulate you through that. So pleased for you all.

And those waiting, I know it is hard but trust me the wait is worth while.... And any day now for many of you...

Ali - I am really hoping you hear any day soon now too as you have been great through the process.

My wife is now in London has been one week since she has arrived today. Hence you have not heard from me. We have had a blast, lots of shopping, so expensive time but been great. Weather has not treated us to bad apart from the day she landed (last Thursday).

FYI - The wife landed at Heathrow, they didnt really ask her anything, it just so happened that a cousin of mine was also travelling to the UK so they both flew together, so the only thing the immigration officer asked is how do you know her / what is the relation, that is it. They did say to her she will need to go one fo the listed hospitals to get a chest x ray done withing 3 months of landing, but she had already had a chest x ray in india so she gave over the xray, they took a copy fo the report, stamped it and also put a note on the system saying all done. Apart form that nothing else, she was out of Heathrow and with me within 1 hour of landing.

Congrats again to those who have been granted. I wish you nothing but happiness.

Mal1990, since you also applied via the Chandigarh visa office but on 4th April 2012, that would make yours 48 working days as of 15th June 2012. There were 2 bank holidays in April, one in May and 2 in June. You need to subtract 5 working days.

Can I just check, does everyone looking to settle in the UK need to go for the medical? If so, whats the time gap from when they request a medical for you and actually getting the visa? Also how much notice do they give you approximately once they inform you to get a medical done?

It's day 57 for us today.

My husband and I both called VFS to see what's taking so long. The only advice given was that it takes about 60 days, and if it goes over this period, to email the BHC directly to chase up.

There are few ppl from chennai and cochin vfs who have applied in the last week of march and are still waiting, I think ppl from hyderabad in last week of march have heard already. Just hoping this wait ends in this week or the next. I really want to know the average time for VFS hyderabad but i know the answer before 60 days lol.

It will be at your doorstep as soon as it can be.! that actually depends on the blue dart people handling your passport. If its the same state as that of BHC you can expect something by evening today otherwise it will be by afternoon tomorrow.!!!

Hi all,

Apologises for the delay.

My wife got her visa today. We only got the alert first thing this morning so we think the decision was made yesterday as her passport was already ready for collection from the local visa office.

Submitted application on 10/04/12 at Chandigarh Visa Office. Received today. 54 working days excluding all bank holidays.

Congratulations to everyone who have also received their visas. Hopefully not too long wait for those still waiting.
