Tier 1 got rejected

Post by ashubhatt » Thu Mar 19, 2009 11:00 am

Hi All,

Just wanted to share my application with you guys.

My visa got rejected for not submitting original degree certificate. I am applying it again tomorrow(This time with original certificate)....As i cannot appeal because i am already on work permit i have to create a fresh application. so frustrating!!

I see this as my last chance as i dont qualify for new rules which are coming from 1st April.

Anyway, does anyone know what is the waiting period now?? Is it same as 6 to 8 weeks or more.

Sorry to hear that, mate. I guess we all learn from experience.

Yes - the waiting time remains 6-8 weeks, and in all honesty, I can only see it getting a little slower as a lot of people are submitting applications to meet the deadline before the rule changes.

I doubt it, in all honesty. A holiday isn't usually seen as "extenuating" circumstances.

I applied within the U.S. - Only took a week to get the whole thing processed!! I'm very excited.
75pts

Recieved - March 12
Payment - March 12
Email confirmation of received - March 17th
Email confirmation of approval - March 19th
Passport received - March 20th

I did have one question though. When I make my way to the UK what (if any) documents do I need to show immigration? (i.e. - maintenance funds,..etc.)

Thanks for all the great advice.

Sending the application by registered post

Post by SING_IT » Sun Mar 22, 2009 8:31 am

Dear Friends,

I am going to apply for my Tier 1 extension from UK. I am planning to send the application by royal mail registered post, but I am not sure which address below should I use?

Postal address:
UK Border Agency
Tier 1
PO Box 496
Durham
DH99 1WQ

Courier address:
UK Border Agency
Tier 1
Millburngate House
Millburngate
Durham
DH97 1PA

Can someone throw some light? Also will the HO send the douments by registered post by default?

Regards,
Singar

Mine back AFC again this morning. Also I was told that the urgent treatment request I sent last monday wasn't passed on to the case worker until last Friday, despite track on their system since last Tuesday. So annoying... :x

Hi wp_to_tier1_168, wahmed80,

I have been a silent member of the boards. My case is exactly similar to yours. Have been reading your posts diligently.
Just wanted to inquire, if you have any update on your application status? Thanks.

Application for - TIER1
Application File date - 26 JAN 2009
Reference Recvd - 29 JAN 2009
STATUS - Awaiting consideration
Converting from TIER2 to TIER1

I need to fly for my brother's marriage in first week of April & I am very tense awaiting, for the application to be even considered.

saggixyz,

Unfortunately my application was again moved to "awaiting consideration" this morning. They didn't consider my urgert treatment request and I had to cancel my travel plan last weekend. So the only thing I can do is keeping waiting. So frustating.

Just got new update.
My case is under consideration. They operator said you need to wait but it shouldn't be long. I am not sure if it was rheoteric or she was true about it. Praying for all of you.

Wahab, wp_to_tier1_168,

I got my passports and other documents on the day that my wife was travelling to India...I had to drive all the way to Sheffield and get my passports...however, to my surprise the lady who called me that morning completed processing of my application in 4 hrs, stamped the passports and gave it to me...I was delighted...never expected them to approve after I had withdrawn my application...

Application Type - WP to Tier 1 General Switch
Application Received - 09-Jan-2009
Fees Debited - 13-Jan-2009
Reference Received - 15-Jan-2009
Passports Received Back - 19-Mar-2009
Result - Approved

Thanks for all the advice and the support. I hope you get your approved applications soon!

Cheers,
Rohith

rohith,

Congrats. So happy you got approval and your wife took travel as well. Mine is still to be precessed so I had to postpone my travel plan last weekend. See if there is anything happening this week.
