I wasn't very lucky.

Applied on 10 Jan 09 for an extension,
Got a letter back on 3 mar 09 requesting the policy registration
Resent everything back on 4 mar 09,
750p fee was returned. Don't understand why???

Keep chasing them to debit my account - no reply/no debit to my account

1Apr the caseworker advised she dispatched everything back to me on 31/03 but didn't say it is successful or not.

I called call centre to find out, and were told when you receive the letter you will know the answer. VERY VERY UNHELPFUL!!!!!!

To make it worse, I missed out the first delivery attempt and went to the local post office to collect and were told they couldn't find it.

So I spend all my day thinking the news is good or bad and where is my package.

Does anybody have similar experience? If HO doesn't charge the fee, they wont give you the visa?

I have got 3yrs extension and this supposed to be the last one before I am eligible for permant one. I've got a job and qualify for all the points.

I am feeling very frustrated and don't know what is coming??

Doomed !

Post by Jackst123 » Sun Apr 05, 2009 2:23 pm

Guys,

I have been a passive member of this board for a very long time now. My colleague / friend had applied for the Work Permit to Teir 1 visa in End of November 2009 for which he received a reply by 21st Jan this year. His visa got rejected for no reason understood at all. All they said was that he did not have enough finances to support himself. When he already has 35 K pounds in his account( distributed as 10 and 25 k in two different accounts). All the bank statements in originals were sent.

So this time he applies again on 1st week of Feb 2009 and i decide to apply too. Unfortunately we apply with a OLD (November) form and his reply comes by 2nd week of Feb saying its an old form , asking him to re-apply. But mine doesnt show up at all till 25th MARCH saying i have applied with an old form.So i applied again on the same very day with all proper documents as this is my LAST SHOT and i dont qualify after April. My friend did apply again on around 18th feb after he got his second rejection. And guess what his got rejected for the third time. This time the reason was specific. They said his account balance between Oct 15th to Oct 21st was around 500 pounds (because he saves all his money in a different account by transferring from salary account). Just those 6 days and his visa is rejected. OCtober 2008 also falls as the 4th months prior from the date of application. Now he does not qualify and has started to pack his bags since the company we work in is in trouble and going to start to lay off guys soon.

Seeing his case i have lost all hopes.... looks like Guys at the visa office are trying to find some reason to reject the application.... and you cant do anything about it if you are on work permit. Since there is no right to complaint or appeal. I am taking all my savings back and going back home (when i get my passport back) and so is he. Its a shame that B-Tech from IIT has lesser value than MSC computers.

Wish you guys good luck!
Jack.

My visa expired 13th march 09 and new visa expiry is now 13 march 2012 (3 years). There is no start date but obviously they continue from old expiry date.

Has any applicant (later than 15th March 2009) received the decision yet?

submit application to switch from WP to Tier1 (G) on 30 March but have not received acknowledgement nor reference number yet. Has anyone applied around the same time received those? I called UKBA this morning but my details are not yet on their system, which I think a bit too late :(

submitted urgent treatment request for family emergency attaching medical documents with translation. Can not do anything but wait... very frustrating :(

Hi Chocoholic,

Do you have your Royal Mail ref. no with you? You can check the status of your delivery on royal mail website.
You can also check of money has be taken out from your bank account. If yes, then you applicatino is progressed and all you have to do is wait.

Generally HO can provide you ref. no. based on your royal mail tracking id.

Hi chetanojha

Thanks for your reply! Yes money has been deducted as soon as they received my application (they did it v.v.v quickly...) but not heard from UKBA at all since. They said my details are not even registered yet hence no ref. no has been produced. Usually ref. no. is produced within a week so a bit concerned.

I think you shouldn't worry at all. This is very normal and might be due to their increased workload(as many people applied early due to new restriction from April 2009).
You have your Royal Mail tracking no. and money is deducted from your account, you should be fine. Just wait for six weeks. You do not need HO ref. no to know your status after 6 weeks as HO agent can trace your application by your royal mail tracking no. as well.

The reason why I am so concerned is that I need passport as soon as possible for family emergency. I probably cannot wait for 6 weeks so I have already booked ticket to visit my home country on 2 May (knowing I might have to dump this ticket). I have already submitted urgent treatment request with medical documents and flight confirmation so everything is depending on a case worker's decision. Obviously they have not even started to consider my application given it has not been registered on the system so I was wondering if they treat my application urgently. Just a bad timing of everything but I really do not want to withdrow my application.

I was wondering if anyone who has posted their application between
1/03/09 and 10/03/09 has received their passport.

Would any one let me what does Awaiting further consideration implies ???

my application arrived at home office on the 19 march.

according to the home office website today:
During the week commencing 13 April 2009, we expect to be considering applications that were received on or before 19 March 2009. Please note that this timescale is a guideline only, and some cases may take longer to consider.

Does anyone know..... based on this info when i should get my passport back?

1. Awaiting consideration: Waiting to be allocated for someone to look at

2. Under consideration: Being worked on currently

3. Awaiting further consideration: Has been looked at, but they need to do some further work eg. waiting for background checks, waiting for the person who stole the application to return it, waiting for the next lunar eclipse, waiting for pigs to fly..............means anything!
Good things come to those who wait.................

Thanks,

So what do we expect from this ...
Any idea how much time does it take to process from this status ???

If the application enters Awaiting further consideration, it means .. you are at their mercy .
