Does that have to be done in a set period off time when you arrive in the UK?

@ Wkkrazy You are right, within three months you have to travel. @aziz4ever I suggest save your 03 months in a long run if you need so.
After taking Advice; remember Everyone's application, and thus supporting documents, will be different depending on personal circumstances.

@ Gregarious - when you say save your 3 months what do you mean by that? Do u mean incase one needs to go back to pak... They can stay for a max of 3 months??

Yes, you are right if any plans to go back to Pakistan later on.

But it is a little bit complicated topic. In settlement applications, UKBA does not restrain any person to go any where in the world; on the other hand, if your stay longer than required period and spent time without your partner outside the UK, then they might ask you the reason.

The law states that "you have spent no more than 270 days outside the UK during those 3 years. Also, you must have spent no more than 90 days outside the UK in the last 12 months of the 3-year period."

This game continues till you get your British Passport. looolz

Thanks for updating the timeline ... Maybe we should put this info as a public spreadsheet on google docs or something, that way it auto updates the days at least... I mean it's not as if this data is not public anyway ...
