Alhumdulillah my wifes visa has been granted today 25/04/12.

Im so happy!!!!

can anyone please tell me if u have to come within 28 days or 3months, my hubby got told you have to come in within 3months, and his stamp was on the passport since 21march2012.

Hi Henna i am not sure and please do not take it as granted, i am telling what i know but not sure it is correct or not thought it makes sense.

There is no restriction on time to travel once visa is granted, but immigration officer will/can ask about the reasons - as at the time of application we said we like to settled in uk etc. It will be fine if we had valid reason for not travelling after getting visa.

As for 28 or 3 months restriction - it is not a restriction but people prefer to travel with in that date. Before july- august 2008 (roughly) uk settlement visa was issued for 2 years- so if some one had to apply for indefinite visa with out getting extension he should travel uk with in 28 days as u can apply for settlement if u are in uk 28 days before completing 2 years. say in past if u came to uk after 28 days then u first had to extend visa and then u qualified for settlement.

Similarly as now they give visa for 27 months so if u like to avoid visa extension u should travel to uk before 3months and 28 days after getting visa else u will need to extend your visa for indefinite.

But this is what i think and am not sure about all this- best is to ring home office, it is straight forward and authentic.

@king2b98 its true wat u say... coming on to this forum alot is unhealthy. i mean u hear different stories some good n some bad but then ur left double minded worrying for no reason. at the end of the day what ever happens it happens for a reason n happens for the best. wats meant to be is meant to be...lol didnt make sense but hope u knw wat i mean.
life is a test n one thing allah is testing us on is our sabr.i am just taking each day as it comes n not building hope up as nobody knows wats around the corner. just keep faith in allah n sure he will help us thru this inshallah.

Hi,

I just got my passport back from the AC and got my visa. I wanted to ask a very simple question. I've been told by some people that I can't just get a ticket to travel to the UK, but instead need to get a letter from Islamabad confirming my visa status. Does anyone know if this is true, or can I just buy a ticket and travel to the UK?

No u do not need any letter, just buy a ticket and come.

And those who got refused,don't worry Allah does best for his people.inshallah.

A friend ov mine has applied for her hubby's visa she took the documents with her to pak and then got them submitted. Now says she will only return back from pakistan once she finds out if he gets the visa or not. She has been there about a month and half now.

Will that be a problem for her ,as it can rake upto 3months before his passport comes back. Can they check and say how come she hasn't returned yet??can they use that to refuse??
