What happened in my wedding was Imam attended and one other guy carrying the paper work. The Imam did the duas and stuff and the other guy was taking down details and asking us to sign stuff.

that is what happened at my daughter's wedding, I think he is the Registrar Flunky who completes the Nikah Nama with everyone’s details at weddings.

I saw the same guy at the Union Council and he processed the Nikah Nama onto the NADRA database and issued us with the wedding registration certificate. The Union Council secretary computer is used to do this. Also we got the UC Secretary to stamp the NADRA reg certificate with the Union Council stamp/seal, he wasn’t to happy as he said they don’t do this and I told him to just do it to keep me happy. I wanted to ensure the Union Council seal was on all Marriage related material.

I wouldnt say angry, that's a bit strong, more like annoyed.
I am just lurking, reading up on updates now and then, too stressful if you visit everyday.
The fact that most apps have had positive results after the long wait is reassuring, also the BHC staff need to be left alone to do their job and check and verify every detail of the application.

Not happy with their work pace but what can we do, most likely the public spending cutbacks have made a difference.

All I do now is give dua for ALL applicants get a visa granted status.

Hi All,

Salam every body!!!!! some update here may help future applicants

My wife went to submit her Spouse Visa Application today at GERRY'S Karachi.

She has been told the following information by the Senior Manager at Gerry's VAC.

1- Current Processing Time for Spouse Visa is 41 Days ( if case is straightforward)
2- Settlement Applications are either dealt in ....Islamabad or Abu Dhabi or sent to UK ( depending on the workload)
3- Every body should bring Photocopies of the application documents....as it is very expensive inside to get done & very time consuming too.
4- Even if you opt for Premium service the waiting time is around 4 Hours.

I hope this information will be of interest, while submitting there application.

looks like this thing of processing in 41 days is the talk of the town lol

they've even made videos on youtube where the commissioner states that they are on target by processing settlement applications within 41 days!!

just hope its true and many of us wont be waiting as long!

not getting my hopes up...but.... :lol:
