I got an email today saying that the application is complete and documents are on their way. They provided me with a tracking number.

I had written a letter to my MP 10 days ago. I called them again yesterday because I got refused a Schengen visa for work because of not having a valid UK visa.

Fingers crossed it is good news :|

What was the reason of their refusal in April 2016 and why did you wait so long to reapply in Oct 2016.

Same as most people, no CSI while my wife was a student

so we reapplied when she has had 5 years working evidence

But to be honest with the election happening, I am very doubtful that my MP will even look at my issue

Coming from East European country. I had to request back the passport after 2 months, its nearly 6 months since ive sent the papers and havent received anything yet.

From my experience and everything have seen on this site, applications that went close to or over 6 months were all eventually approved and PR given.
Mine was just a day over 6 month and was worried like you all. The decision letter said I could apply for naturalisation from April 2017 so the time have been waiting also was part of the 1 year required for PR status.

I know it's hard cos you guys probably wanna travel but my advise is for you guys to be patient. The PR will come.

Good luck guys

My application was successful and I will get my PR in 10 working days.

The only issue with the letter is that it said "residence card" but when I called the helpline they cleared it up and said it is just a generic letter and I will receive PR.

The only thing that kept me awake at night during the 6 months was the fact that I applied 4 months before my qualifying period (5 years wedding anniversary was February 2017).

Actually we had the same worry, we applied 6 weeks before our qualifying period as our wedding was early December

So that really is good to hear! if you got your PR when you applied early then we should be ok!

Yes it is great we did not get penalised. However, we were living together for a year before we got married after-which I applied for EEA family permit as spouse.

Also both my husband and son got dual British and Eu citizenship. I can't wait to join them and not have to keep applying for visa everywhere I go! Which is very humiliating when traveling on business.

We were living together for 2 years before we got marrried, but I also applied as spouse instead of married parter

Its a real shame they penalise partners who get married by resetting the time they have been together. So if I did not marry my wife we would have been eligible for PR 2 years ago!

Hi Samelamin,

I looked at the letter they have sent me and it states that I got PR on the 21st April 2015! Which is approximately 5 years since we started living together.

If I knew that the unmarried period whilst we were living together counted, I would have applied earlier.

Oh well...

Same here, got the same email

And I called them like 3 times, the second time they said I have to wait 5 working days before I should contact them again

The wait is a pain and the feeling of powerlessness is frustrating.

My MP has not replied yet since she is probably far too busy with the election. I did however get a response from an MEP who said they are probably super busy with applications and sent

"There have been lots of media reports about the delays - for example: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/po ... 01211.html"

Not really an answer but I suppose I should understand
