I was wondering if anyone has heard about a same day service starting from April 2015 to apply for the ILR under the 10 year category. My work has agreed to sponsor my visa under the current category and put me in touch with an immigration advisory agency. They have let me know that it's hot off the press the the UKBA will be starting same day applications again from April 2015 for this category. This makes my life a lot easier since I was worried I'd have to give my passport up for a few months and I have to travel for work.

But, I can't find any reference to such an announcement or anything on the UKBA website. Any ideas on this one? I can't have been told wrong information since the immigration service is a very reputable large firm who have been operating with my company (also a large multinational - hence the capability for a visa sponsor)

Thanks
This is the post from last month that states SET (LR) is available for same day from April 15,

Workinggirl85- your solicitor is simply great....
Oh I wished I used this forum then... :(
I just got some advice from a solicitor who mentioned none of this

Thanks for that. How to make SET(LR) while appeal pending with UT. If request made to vary or ad ground to be considered for long residence ground - should submit completed file of along with form and requisite doc of SET(LR)? Do I have to pay full or remaining fees? Thanks.

Hi Jamal,
There are few reasons behind holding the applications
1. Have you ever used TOEIC english test for any of your extension
2. About life in the uk test
3. if you have any criminal convictions
others are tax related but i do not yours is related to tax

thanks

my appeal is still with ftt, if you've completed 10 years then you have to send additional ground to both tribunal and HOPO, because with the changes made to appeal in 2014 if you didn't let HO know any changes in your circumstances before appeal date they have the right to not allow it to be put forward on the day of your hearing.

i did made an application though, but i received a letter telling me i can't make new application while appeal is pending and my document will be retained and linked to my appeal. However the letter said i should send the information to Tribunal for variation of grounds. Hope that helps i paid full money

Hi everyone

New member here. I applied for 10 year ILR on 27/01/2015, the biometrics invite got lost in the mail and only received a second one and did biometrics on 19/02/15. After that no news. I received an email yesterday from home office saying that application is in progress and will be decided within six months, or they will let me know if it cannot be decided in 6 months.

Has anyone received such email?

I really need to travel home since my mother is ill. Does it help to call home office and ask to expedite? Or write letter?

I have withdrawn my application sent on 1st April, wish to use same day servce. I think it is better to pay £800 extra than to wait for months...nerve wrecking ...

But its just not extra £800 for you as £1093 previous fees you will lose!
Did you not enquire them if its possible to upgrade to premium without withdraw?
I'm also so sad too I just missed it.. Had no idea they'd give 10 year ILR on one day!!!

Yes I think it'd be worth contacting them and send them compassionate/compelling evidence to see if they can make a decision sooner. Fingers crossed!

Thanks. Okay, if I served additional ground to UT and to POU of my 10 year long residency theshold to be considered - should I resquest UT to make a direction to HO to be considered my application on that basis. And in what stage can I make long residece LTR/ ILR application? Should I pay full fees or part (deducting from old payment). Or if this application would be variation of fresh application. Can you please shine any light on it. Thanks.

I had only applied on 1st of April, so no fees was deducted. Just waiting for documents to come back so I can book an appointment. I was surpriesed to see that there are appointments available for even next week, it means they are not so busy..

I don't think withdrawing your application was a smart decision. If HO receives your application, they will probably deduct the £1093. Pray this doesn't happen. Also, you have have to pay the new fee, which is £1500 plus the premium fee. If you have a look at the spreadsheet, the processing time has massively improved with some getting decisions in 4 weeks. Mine took about 6 weeks. If your case is straight forward, it won't take long. I would understand if there is an urgent need for it but if not...I really don't see the need of withdrawing your application however, I wish you the best of luck.

EJ PERTERS wrote:Hello, Greetings to you all who have made this forum so informative.

I believe my application should be straight forward but which to get an advice as in intend to apply next week.

(1) Firstly,
I first arrived in the Uk as a visitor , 1st of April 2005 stayed in UK for 3 weeks then returned back to my own country and returned back in to the UK June 15th 2005 ( spending about 75days out) on a student visa and has never left the country since then till date.

Questions 1... Does my entry as a visitor count in my 10 years or I have to wait till June 15th to make my ILR application.

(2) Secondly,

I am currently on a point base dependant visa with 10years stay made up of shown below
1. Visiting visa-----------------April 2005
2. Study Visa-------------------June 2005 - Jan 2012
3. PSW-------------------------- Feb 2012 - Feb 2014
4. Student dependant-------- April 2014 till Dec 2018

Question 2. Since April 2015 will make it 10years in the country , am I entitled to apply for ILR and if so what form am I to use.

Kindly advice as I look forward to making an application ASAP.

Many Thanks
Hi, I think you are eligible to apply on the basis of 10 Years in June 2005. I don't think visiting visa counts...I could be wrong but you can check HO website

Get million dollar advice and dead end one-

Your visitor LTR does count towards 10 year long residency as you did have break less than 6 months until student LTR capacity arrival, meaning you do qualify for 10 years long residency LTR/ILR on 03/03/2015 given 28 days earlier application is perfectly all right. Thanks

I need your help. I have beenin the UK for over 12 years.
I came as a student. Then changed to dependant. My husband was also subject to no recourse to public funds. Anyways we started hqving problems.. which also included domestic violence and all. So i ran away. My son was granted ILR even when both his parents didnt have ILR. I WAS ADVISED I COULD GET CHILD BENEFIT AND TAX CREDITS. so i claimed and was accepted. But now that am about to apply for my Ilr am told that becaUse my visa states no recourse to publuc funds. That i WILL get refused. But i went and saw a lawyer and they said we can try and fight it. On the grounds of being mislead to apply for the funds and that if need be i will repay ever penny claimed over the last 6years.
I am worried that i will never be avle to get my ILR now is there anyone who has had ilr approved even wen they haf claimed some benefits. Please help. someone advised me to cance claiming and wait atleast 3 months before applying. Then apply and contest i was lead.what shall i do??? I feel i wws very mislead and this is very worrying now.
What do i do? i am just looking for insight onwhat i should do. i have cancelled the claims today, waiting on hmrc to write to me and give me all my information and how much i owe back to start paying it all back. but other than that i have no idea wat else o, womena aid insited i was okay in claiming tax credits and cb when they were trying to help me get away from my ex husband.

Na74,

You would be the first person active on this forum, to go for one day ILR on 10 year basis. Please share you experience here - that would be really valuable for all future applicants. Thanks.

U can only add additional grounds in FTT. If u r in UT than u need judge permission to add additional grounds. Do u have any lawyer ?

Didn't he tell u about this.

In UT u can only talk and argue about ERROR of LAW made by ftt judge.

Did u actually get UT hearing or waiting for permission?

Hei, do let us know if they actually refund your money for withdrawing application. Also it would be interesting to know how your Same Day Service goes ? What kind of questions they ask ? :D
