@sairah23

Salam,

I haven't heard anything back either. I escalated my application on Tuesday 14th July on the phoneand was told I should expect an update within 3-5 working days and still haven't heard anything back yet. Given up hope of hearing any time soon to be honest with you. Seeing people from March still waiting for an update but nothing for them either. Don't really know what they playing at.

Hi guys just to let you know that yesterday i emailed to chase up my escalation lol...they sent me 2 emails one at 2:30am saying that your Application has not been assessed my an ECO and then at 8:30am they emailed, "initial pre assessment and oime verification conducted. Application is I'm ECO queue for further assessment and checks/enquiries "

Only reason I think they did it because I chased it up again. Do you guys know Approx how long after this stage I can expect to hear a response.

Re: Spousal Visa Application - Pakistan (Timeline Only)

Post by Rocky786 » Thu Jul 23, 2015 7:27 pm

Hi All,

I am a British citizen and am applying for my wife to come over to the UK from Pakistan (spouse visa).

We submitted our online application on 2nd July 2015 and my wife had her appointment in Lahore on 15th July. During this time the rules for document submission changed and while I sent the supporting documents to Sheffield, my solicitor wrongly advised me to send the VAF and appendix 2 to Pakistan to submit on day of her appointment.

Unfortunately, BHC Lahore did not accept the application form on the day of her appointment, but did take her passport in a sealed envelope and gave her a ref number. They advised that the transition period for new rule is 1 week and that my wife must send applications forms herself directly to Sheffield. My questions:

1) She has yet to receive a confirmation email stating her documents/passport have been received - is it normal not to hear anything?
2) I am also worried that my supporting documents and application form have arrived in two separate parcels on two different dates. My mind tells me they will get 'lost' in the system in Sheffield.

My solicitor wrote a covering letter explaining the mix-up with the documents and we have emailed BHC and asked them to make sure the application forms sent by my wife are linked up with the sponsor docs I sent...they have yet to reply despite promising to investigate 3 days ago. I am little worried now.

Any help and advice greatly appreciated.

Timeline:
Married in Pakistan: 20/04/2015
Online application submitted: 2/07/2015
BHC appointment in Lahore: 15/07/2015
No confirmation email on receipt of documents/passport

I have sent all docs to pakistan, where does it say 1 week transition period? The email confirming appointment says bring your supporting documents application form to your appointment. ...they need to change their instructions if they want people to send to Sheffield!

Hi Guys,

The one week transition period is not mentioned anywhere but was told verbally by the agents at BHC Lahore. I agree that this should have been more clearly defined. The whole change has been a shambles.

Anyone who has already sent all documents to Pakistan, they may ask your spouse to submit them to Sheffield, yourself, or they may accept ALL documents and then forward on your behalf. The reason they did not do that for my wife was because they said that she only had part of the documents (i.e application form, and appendix 2).

Anyone submitting from this point forward should really send all supporting docs+app forms to Sheffield, with only the passport lodged in the BHC in Pakistan.

In all fairness in most recently updated info and cases done online if one was asked to book an appointment location in Pakistan ie lhr isl and murp or khr they would have chosen them. Nothing mentioned of Sheffield UK at the time of booking so they are wrong in doing this. Just messed up.
I think part of your application was here n there they got even more confused with them self.. good luck any way

Also there instructions state that the GW rreference number should be on the top right hand corner of enclosed documents. ...so how on earth is my wife going to write the GW reference number on every page??

Im just so sick of it.

Looks like these guys are getting slower

Settlement Visas

Most applications are processed within 90 days.

Number of days to process application

30 days 60 days 90 days 120 days
1% 57% 97% 100%

Note: actual processing times may vary depending on a range of factors.

The above data is for all decisions made in June 2015

Sending from pakistan yeah FedEx or something of a well know name. Don't trust any small company you are bound to get bad results. If sending from UK local post office international mail service is spot on and half the price. I've sent cards document's and small light parcel at very competitive prices and time scales is very good. For card posting 4 5 days 2nd class that is. International parcel 2 3 days n rest is about same.

What about July way off track !!!! loll
Hmm to much off a back log. Just show's the weakness and the utter sher monopoly in this. And the amount of fooling around their doing. While sitting in some of world's well known cities in multiple high story buildings and going through paper work and taking as long as what you and I have to wait.

Yeah skynet good shout.

And it's worth considering when you've paid in likes of 1500 for starters and another 50 to 80 €£¥ to top wouldn't harm. After all you want good satisfied results and it's a visa case you wanna make sure ppl who are dealing with your papers know what their doing in delivering a service so a little extra wouldn't harm
