Any news from anyone who applied in end of may/beginning of june from delhi..have they heard anything yet?

hi i called the appeals dept this morning and they said they havent sent on the application to india just yet but they had taken payment around and put it on the system on the 9th of aug. i had sent my appeal via recorded post on the 17th of aug

looks like im in the same boat - my hubby applied for his visa from mumbai on 18th may 2012 and the statuts hasnt changed from saying "ur application has been forwarded to BHC"

shouldnt it at least say 'in progress' by now? its becomin extremely frustrating - iv waited 8 years to be with him - now finally married (only civil ceremony done yet mind) and now waiting for the visa! i didnt actually realise how tiring this process was! seems like you have a price to pay for falling in love with someone who doesnt live in the same country!

(rant over) does anyone know why its taking so long?

Hi Could some one tell me their experience.
We applied for my wife's spouse settlement Visa in the last week of May 2012 at VFS Chennai. After two months of waiting I wrote an email to BHC, Chennai, asking information about our application. I got a swift reply saying that a decision will be made within 60 working days and if not we can write to them after 60 days. Today, after 12 weeks from the date of application, I emailed them asking for information.

Within hours of my email, someone phoned my wife and have asked her to come to Interview next week tuesday morning along with a copy of the passport and any other form of Identification. (All the original documents have been submitted with the application and we haven't recieved anything back yet.)

Do any one know what would be the next process.

I see a lot of people have their say, but no one has said about what is the process.

For me, it looks like

1. Submit an Online Application and book an appointment with VFS
2. Take the copy of aplication and all original Documents, Passport and PHotos and attend the VFS and pay the fees. (Date starts for application)
3. Application forwarded to the coreepsonding British High Commission (BHC)
4. Wait for 60 days
5. Recieve a Phone call from VFS asking to attend a Interview


Would anyone update this list?

What hapens next on the day of interview / and how long someone have to wait further?

I know its extremely frustrating to wait for visa .. I did the same ..finally my family got the visa .. general processing time is around 12 weeks or so .. but due to Olympics all applications got delayed .. people applied on May 1st and 2nd week got their visas Aug 2nd week or so ( we applied on 4th May got response on 10th Aug) .. so you should get some response by end of this week or some time next week.

Hi Mava,

I heard some people in the forum has to attend interview to get the visa but that is not mandatory for every body .. If BHC need any clarifications they call for interview .. positive thing is they will take decision immediately about u r visa after interview ..

Yes I had an interview on 7th aug and my ECO told me to wait for another 3/4 days for sure and today it's been like another 10 days and no update... So fed up the way the working on my file...

It takes 5 weeks to send off to the Embassy, but you hear about it after 6/7 weeks through a letter which is sent to the appellant.

Thank you. was advised they have got a big backlog, their obvious answer to everything, but i remember now they had processed it about the 1st of august and i suppose that will take me up to the end of the month i guess. was advised that dehli bhc from advisor do process very quickly apparently.

Best advice I can give is be a nuisance.

Pester BHC Delhi, your local MP, your solictor and ANO.


At the end of the day they are all doing a job just like you and me, and when u r consistently chased for something, you end up just dealing with the issue so you can't stop getting bothered!

Cn u tell me how did u contacted bhc,all process means did u mailed thm or u hav snd ur file by post,i know ur solicitor did it.. how to conatact thm regarding refusals and all..
i must say you are really lucky congrats again n again..

I applied 31st may 2012. by today 60 working days and 83 normal days. yesterday i sent email to chennai and they reply me I will get decision within 60 working days.
