It would greatly assist us if you only contact us if it is absolutely necessary as this will allow us to devote the maximum time to the processing of applications.

This is the second last paragraph of the acknowledgment letter they sent recently.

I think it may be a wrong approach to call them every so often. This obviously is annoying them more than helping us to get the decision any quicker.

Received Approval

Post by Jakes_26 » Wed Sep 16, 2009 2:40 am

Hi All,

I am actually embarrassed to say this (while there is still so many people still waiting for approval that applied before me) but I got my approval letter yesterday.

Applied: March 08
Acknowledged: April 08
Approved: September 09

Applied on the basis of marriage to an Irish Citizen

Regards,

How long had u been married before u applied in March 2008 ?
Was he "pure" or naturalised Irish? If naturalised, when did he get citizenship?

Was your aquaint also married to an Irish citizen or just a regular application?

Guys, how long it can take for an application to "sit" in the minister's office, do you think its standard 4 weeks or can be any faster?

Thanks

After you pay 950 and send papers to INIS it takes normally 50-60 days to get the Cert by post.
But there are cases with 30-40 days as well.

Tuner im pretty sure that isnt correct, the average seems to be 4 weeks and it also states on the citizens info website that the certificate is normally issued within 30 days. 50-60 days seems to be when there are holidays and the department is closed.

To answer EBS question. I think once the application has been sent for approval the max it takes is 4 weeks on average, however there have been cases I know of that have taken considerably longer and some considerably less. I dont think they sign the approvals one at a time but rather in batches, so it could depend when youre application is put in to the batch it could come back quicker. Im guesstimating that mine took 2 weeks with the minister.

OK, I would agree to 40-50 days on average (like most of my friends), but not 30, for sure. For me it took 55 days. If they ask u to submit to Dub , not Tipp then its quicker.
