my gamble didn't pay off.. i've applied on April 1 but didnt opt out.. now im stuck again.. they shouldn't have implemented any deadline for us to opt-out, so that people who applied in March and April have a chance to change our mind.

Same here. I applied on 12th April, thought opting in would let us through quicker but this back fired. There we go, Waiting game series 4.0 !!! Sick of my life.

People that were given 10th as a deadline might be called next week.
However, people are going after appointments like vultures and that is rightly so, they waited long enough.
I think fro us who didn't receive any emails might need to wait more because there will be a shortage of appointments for next few weeks - Just guessing.

Don't worry, need to keep waiting. In past people reported that emails received until midnight. Also I noticed a post from member that email received at 4 am. I personally received biometric re-use email at 5 am in morning.

It's is going to be another sleepless night.

Hi all,

Opted out of IDV app last week, my cut-off was 10th Aug. Received appointment invitation email at 6:30 pm today. Booked Lansdowne Road SP for this Saturday - 2 people for £270. There were appointments available for tomorrow as well. Other than this service point all other locations in and around London and Birmingham were not free until 24 August, some were until September. The cheapest appointment was £220 for 2 again in Lansdowne for this Monday. I have also received confirmation email with QR codes.

May I ask when did you book your appointment please? When I checked at 6:45 pm today there was no appointment available at Croydon until 25th Aug.

Booked one in Croydon for next week. Good luck everyone! I was able to book an appointment an hour before the email was actually sent to me. Check different service points as some have no appointment slots left.

I applied in March 29th, opted out on 7th August.
Still no invitation email received. I am really wondering according to what they are sending emails for booking appointment.

If by remain OPT-IN - the applicant gets no benefit of quick biometrics (as compared to OPT-OUT or not eligible for reuse) then what's the point of this new approach?

1. It has been clearly stated in their email that the benefit is: it is free. No one ever said this app is quick
2. And also I think it helps to ease the burden if there is another lock down.
3. Preparing for the future- it is officially mentioned from next year visa applications will use app

In the original email about opt in/opt out, they said if you urgently need a decision about your application, then book an appointment. So my interpretation is that they will prioritise appointments, so I chose to opt out, as I do need a desicion as soon as possible for travelling reasons.

My deadline was also 10th but I opted out on 5th and got the email today so maybe they are doing it in the reply date order. Hopefully you’ll be able to book soon!

I think people who haven't received appointments yet shouldn't panic. The email stated that the appointments will be released w/c 10 Aug.
Today is the first day when opt out applicants started getting appointments. The week still hasn't finished. Their opt out system is driven using email and not automated (manual system update involved by a person).
So, a little more patience, that's all
