I've spoken to a solicitor - the ECM on several occasions has apparently come back saying that the applicant / sponsor did not follow the set appeal process. This means that writing to them directly isn't going to help.

I have decided to lodge the appeal tomorrow morning as per their process. The Tribunals here will send the appeal back to the ECM with the supporting documents (if any) for the ECM to review again - this process takes approximately 6 to 8 weeks.. within this period the ECM may overturn the decision - if not, the application bundle will be sent to the courts for a hearing...

My local MP's office verified this and agreed to write a supporting letter to the home office once I have submitted the appeal.

Appeal needs to be filed properly. The ECM review thing a seperate and sending your additonal information/letter to explain yourself helps the ECM to make correct decision with less delays.

Hope this helps.
