Hi Hey3guys,

I would suggest you be patient, the average is around 44 working days if additional checks are being done etc. low risk applications are quick to be processed. I would suggest you prepare for all possible outcomes including interview etc and focus on positive things for the next few weeks. Thanks.

but I am quite low risk, as I have been issued visas previously without problems. I returned to India after my tier 1 ended, and got married shortly afterwards, so will they think it's a marriage of convenience?

Hi,

Where is your partner from ? My wife is from Chandigarh and I was advised that there will be extra checking done purely because the applicant is from Punjab. I didn't believe it at first but it did turn out that she had to attend a personal interview which delayed things further. The whole application is not assessed in one go as we were asked to provide one document on 31 March and then again one on 22 April and then finally a call for interview on 12 May.

In my opinion if your financials, residence proof etc. are not in order then you'll hear very soon, but if the issue is about genuineness of marriage then the worst it'll be a personal interview which should turn out to be OK as long as you tell the truth. As long they don't find a reason to reject the application it'll keep progressing further.

you can find my timeline here: agupta77 timeline

Generally for spouse Visa applications, the normal wait for a straight forward case and first application is approximate 3 months +/- this is the time period roughly an applicant can be expected to wait. There is no hard and fast rule, can sometimes take longer slightly and sometimes less. But this is approx. waiting time one should persevere with.Yes I know some people get there visa in 1 month or so

How long does it take to get a visa after it's under "processing"? When are they likely to come up with a decision?

Hi Everyone!

Can anybody share there settlement visa processing timeline from VFS New Delhi. I haven't been able to find many people who applied from Delhi.

I applied for my Settlement Visa (Family of a settled person; my husband is on an ILR) on the 7th of May from VFS Delhi.

Would be a huge help!!

Submitted all the original documents including my own degrees as i'v studied in London myself. I'm hoping that will help get our application some weightage.

Its been three weeks since I applied.

Good luck to everyone who is in the same boat!

Thanks! :)

Its been 33 working days for you? This wait is really frustrating I know, and unfortunately wairing is the only option. The VFS representative told me that since its summers and thr are alot of applicants for tourist and student visas, its taking longer than usual.

Hang in thr buddy. Hope your visa comes this week!

Enquiry or application escalated?

Postby heyheyheyguys » Wed Jun 03, 2015 4:00 am
I got the following email from UKVI. I was just wondering whether this means my application has been escalated or just the enquiry? How fast am I supposed to get it after the escalation?

Thank you for contacting the UK Visas and Immigration International Enquiry
Service.

With regards to your query, we can see that your enquiry has been escalated
onto the relevant department who are investigating your case. As soon as
there has been an update or any information in regards to your case you
will be immediately notified.

For any further details, or should you need to contact us again please
refer to our website at https://ukvi-international.faq-help.com/, select
appropriate country, click next and then select 'E-Mail form' and complete
as instructed. We will aim to come back to you within 1 day.

Kind regards,
Miyuki Y.

Has anyone else received this? Does it mean the visa decision is on its way soon?

It says 100% applications from Pune are processed within 10 days. Has anyone ever tried withdrawing and then applying from Pune? Does that work in getting a faster visa or it doesn't matter because they see you're not a local?

If you withdraw your application you will lose your visa fee and have to pay again.

I'm willing to pay again if they process it in 10 days like they say. Or would they take longer because I applied from Delhi initially before withdrawing and am a non-local?

Hi Guys,

I have applied on 28/04/2015 for my wife and child and since then heard nothing.

I tried tracking my file no. but nothing came up on that so I decided to email them and found out that they cannot trace both files which is utter nonsense. They said its now been escalated.

They have now emailed the relevant department to investigate and god know now when they will come back to me.

Has anyone else had such experience.

Thanks
