Hi all:

Re absence letter from a previous employer. It is not addressed to the UKVI/Home Office but rather just lists all the absences and confirms they were authorised and paid.

Is this an issue? It is very clearly a letter for ILR purposes because there is a para included in it setting out the 180-day rule (this is a proforma used by that employer for ILR applicants).

Am I overthinking again?

Salary increase reporting

Post by Akorotaeva » Mon Aug 27, 2018 12:24 pm

I have just had an increase in salary (2%): this was a Union-negotiated increase for all employees in my industry.

I am also due to go up a pay spine in October (annual progression - around 2.5k). I am above ILR minimum already.

Do either need to be reported to UKVI? I am guessing not but wanted to check.

Tier 2 to ILR query

Post by Akorotaeva » Thu Jun 13, 2019 9:45 pm

Hi all,

I switched from Tier 4 to Tier 2 in country in August 2016. My Tier 2 was issued 24.08.16 and until then I was working for the college where I was a student (much less than 20 hrs a week etc).

I recently saw that the leaving date for that job was 30.08.16, so technically I was employed elsewhere while on a Tier 2 visa, though I wasn't paid at all that month, I was just on the payroll of my college still, as I had a casual hourly contract while a PhD student.

My COS start date with my Tier 2 sponsor was 01. 09.18.

Will this raise any issues with ILR?

Hi all,

I am filling in the booking form to sit Life in the UK test.

Stuck on town or city of birth!

My passport states as place of birth: USSR in English, but only X Region in Russian

My BRP states X Region as they seemed to have translated the Russian text from my passport.

I was born in town Y located in X Region.

What on earth do I put? The town Y as that is what they are asking for, even though it doesn't appear on any of my documents?
