Can you still get leave for student visas/work permit/hsmp at the immigration counter these days?
My extensions at airport were student visas. And it was during 1997-1999.

My other HSMP and WP visas were in-country FLRs.

hi

I entered on diplomatic visa in 1998 and converted to a Student visa in 2002. A new entry clearence sticker was issued by the Foreign office in London in my new passport. I've been a student since and will be 10 years in June. I had existing leave as dependent of a diplomat when applying for the student visa.

Is the conversion a gap ?
