As far as I am aware, the Malaysians tolerate the situation of a Right of Abode stamp put in the Malaysian passport of a dual citizen child.

Many Malaysians from Penang and Malacca who retained British nationality at independence in 1957 became full British citizens in 1983 because they had acquired Right of Abode through residence in the U.K. before 1983. As far as I am aware, many of them have British Right of Abode stamps in their Malaysian passports, instead of having British passports.

But you may want to ask around in Malaysian circles.

Bear in mind that the British government really does not care what the Malaysian government thinks about the child being British, or whether it refuses to issue child with a passport or not.
