Spouse Visa

Post by twostars » Thu Nov 06, 2008 12:18 am

Hello its me again.

After taking all you advised on the board, I have since spoken to a lawyer citing the advise on the Chikwamba case etc but he advised that these are fine but it might take a while before I am granted a visa.

He suggested the quickest and cleanest way of doing this considering my adverse immigration history was to go back to Zim and get married then apply for a spouse visa.

My boyfriend and i have started looking into this seriously and are putting together all the documentation required.

Looking at the VAF4 form that I need to fill in, Section 5 which asks question on travel history in the last 10 yrs and asks if I have been refused a visa or asked to leave the country.

Well as I was asked to leave the country 5 yrs ago as mentioned in my original post, I am afraid this might give them grounds to refuse the spouse visa... am I right to worry about this?? I was hoping someone could shed some light , I have searched under spouse visa on the board but have not come across anyone who has asked this...

Help am really worried about the whole process :(

Thank you all

Just a note to thank you all for this website and taking time to respond to these issues.

I went home with my boyfriend and we got married much to the delight of my family.

We went armed with all documents required for a spouse visa application. We made the application on a Tuesday and by the following Monday, the visa was ready.

I tell you its a great relief coming back here with all your papers sorted.

All Zimbabweans who want to go home to get married to apply for a spouse visa I urge you to read on what is required for application on this forum (and there are plenty of examples) and if you are honest about everything and try to meet the requirements as much as you can, you will do just fine.

My new husband and I are chuffed and believe me its easier to make plans for the future for us now.

All the best to all and thanks again. :D :D :D
