A cos can be issued for any length of time, even for 6 months. It does not have to be for 3 years.

Oh, those are great news! :D :D :D

And how are visa and health surcharge calculated in that case?

I thought that visa can only be for 3 or 5 years, and then IHS is the same time as visa.

Is it possible to apply for skilled worker visa for only 6 months and how much would visa fee and ihs be n that case?

I believe that my applicant is likely to get 4 years and 10 months now, so 6 months extra will definitely be sufficient.
