magsi23,

When you ring HO it gives two option -1 for update on the applications made and 2- for general queue. I believe option 2 is for appt. When someone rings at 9am, would it be wise to go for option 1 (for better chance of getting an appt- quicker) . Did you press option 2?

Raj,

I pressed option 2, i dont know if it was my lucky day but in all it took me 3 minutes to book my appointment.

I would recemmend you stick to that because if you press option 1 they might not be able to book your appointment which would delay it even further.

Hope this helps

Magsi,
I have been asking you. Somehow I asked couple of consulatants/lawyers and they are not aware of the changes in the rule.

According to new rule, if your student visa expires and you leave the country before it expires and re-enter the UK with new UK visa from your home country, it is not considered a break in residency.

OK, I think most people regard that as an interpretation of what a gap is rather than a rule change. It was updated I think in April after an appeal from one of the applicant...so most solicitors might not understand it if you say change of rule!
