This is very strange how IIT could be a non-recognised institute? Senior members can guide how to check the compatibility of degrees since NARIC website can be viewed only by members.

I received today my reference number by post. However, mentioned there application received on 14 March 2006 since DHL delivered shipment on 6th March 2006. It means 8 days time lag of application forwarding from payment section, I suppose.

My reference number is 0644XX.

Hey Keshav,

Just quoting one of my hostel seniors:

By NARIC, do you mean 'Non-Academic' Recognition Information Center ? :)

Thanks for the moral support guys. I am not depressed though since now the UK employer is filing for work permit. I hope i will atleast get that. If not, then looks like home office guys don't like me and i would go forward with my US job offer.

Application details: Finalized the decision within 2 weeks of receipt but documents took 1 month in transit before i received them.

Hi oblix,

it is interesting to know that you are opting for UK between US/UK. Being an IIT, I think you can progress in your career/settlement much faster/easier in US than UK.

That's my personal opinion though..

Better job profile and settled relatives in UK are the 2 reasons that i am opting for this.

This is ridicolus, how can they say that degree from IIT is not recognised as equivalent to UK!
I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star.

Well, I am sure there must have been a mistake of some sort about not recognising the IIT degree.

A proper review of the HSMP decision would have fixed the problem(Assuming that is the only area you did'nt score)

All others, please don't panic much about this decision, it is just a mistake and is fixable in my opinion and does'nt happen too often.

Coudn't ask for review since that has to be done within 28 days of the decision. They didn't left me that option also because the return of documents took more than 28 days. I have to apply again (if required ... waiting for the work permit decision), which means another 315 pounds - not a small amount.

Hey guys,

I am bit concerned about my documents.

See i have claimed 15pts for my education, I did my bachelor of engineering (Comp sc) 4yrs degree course and PG diploma in MIS. I have sent my transcripts and degree certicate for that, Hope that will be sufficient.

For my Work exp:

I worked for 4 organsiation

for 2 organisation i submit exp letter and job responsibilites letter

for fy my 1st organisation i only submit exp letter in which no responsibilites were given, as i left that job in 2002, i worked there as S/w engineer and i had a bachelore of engg (Comps sc) degree .

For my corrent employer i only subm, itted my offer letter and confirmation letter. I dont wether it is sufficient or not , what you guys said????

Also i submitted my 12months wage slips and bank statement,

bank statement is original but we got only system generated payslip which does not require signature, Do the home office will except that????

Please reply..

thanks

nik

7 days is too early to worry.

Give it 3 weeks before you even call them up.

Reference number is not such an important thing, you will get it soon.
