All,

I have applied for EC through VFS New Delhi, in India.
On their website the current status showing is
"Application has been forwarded to the British High Commission"

Does anyone track the status on the website too? What is the next update until we receive the passport.

Pls. share any relevant information on the same.

The next update is
"The passport has been couriered to the applicant. Case closed."

If u want to know what is happening,Then call BHC on phone &ask for update they will tell you.(like "assigned case to EC Officer" or "docs r under verification")

I enquired my current Employer, he did n't get any call from any one related to my details.

Sponsorship Docs :
----------------------
1)Sponsorship letter
2)Sponsor's 6 month bank statement
3)Sponsor's 6 month pay slips
4)Sponsor's offer letter(Employment Letter)
5)Sponsor's House Property registration document(or House rent agreement)
6)Sponsor's immigration status.(Sponsor's Visa page from his Passport)
7)Sponsor's utility bills(electricity bill,phone bill)

These r the documents what i have submitted with my EC Application.

Q1) Does the sponsership mean your employer who gave you the offerletter?

Q2) Did you provide all the originals (Sponsership docs)?

Q3) My employer sent me a scanned copy of offer letter. he didn't send me any originals. Is this ok?

Q4) What is this medical test? Do we need to undergo this before we submit EC?

Q5) My offer letter consists only gross salary paid and no salary structure is mentioned.

Q6) What all docs should i request from my employer?

I am also from bangalore. can you please send me private message of your mail id or contact number.

i have one query uk.I have a letter of accomodation from my frnd in UK
2. votu bill and a mobile bill he has sent me as a additional proof..
is that enough for accomodation proof uk.destiny.
can i proceed with this guys..

Ans: Not only Employer . Your Friends or Relatives can also sponsor you for your Stay,Food,Medical,other Expenses in UK.

Ans: I submitted all Xerox Copies. Only Sponsorship letter is Original because Sposor Should Sign that Letter.

Ans: I am not Sure in this Case. No Idea

Q4) What is this medical test? Do we need to undergo this before we submit EC?
Ans: If they think ,Then they will send you a letter for that.Otherwise not Required.
Q5) My offer letter consists only gross salary paid and no salary structure is mentioned.
Ans: As per my Knowledge,They will Consider Gross.

Q6) What all docs should i request from my employer?
Ans: It's better if you ask Hard copy of the Offer letter .
In that make sure that
1)Your expected date of Joining
2)Office Address
3)If Company arrange any accomodation..that also Include for your initial Stay.

And also onemore thing,If your salary is high then only submit these evidences.Because you are going under Higly skilled Migrant Programme. If you show Less salary Job,Then again they will think differently.

The above details are my ideas only. I am not sure weather they will consider that or not.But I suggest you to do these things.

Under HSMP Category,We have to satisfy the visa officer that you have enough money to support yourself and live or stay in the UK without working or needing any help from public funds

For that above link provided this Info.

* If your sponsor, employer or anyone else is supporting you, you could show evidence of his or her immigration status in the UK. This includes six monthsâ€™ itemised bank statements, payslips and evidence that they are willing to pay for your stay in the UK.

* If you are paying for any part of the trip yourself, you could show evidence of your personal circumstances in India, for example, letters of employment, six monthsâ€™ itemised bank statements, and evidence of your assets.

* If you are visiting the UK, you could show evidence that you have somewhere to stay, for example, a hotel reservation or a letter from your sponsor confirming that you are staying with them.

* If you are spending a longer period of time in the UK, for example, as a student or with a work permit, the visa officer needs to be satisfied that you have somewhere to live that it is suitable for you and your family, and that the person who owns or rents it is willing to let you live there. You could do this by providing a local-authority property report, or written confirmation from the mortgage lender.

Hi there,

Can anybody tell how much time it is taking recently for getting the EC?

The VFS person told me that it may take 18 days for the processing as they have hired a 3rd party for the verification of documents. Is it really taking so long? Has anybody applied recently and got the visa?

Hi All,
I have applied EC on30th march in Mumbai, while i was paying VFS fees, the lady there at cash counter told me that the process will take minimum 10 days.

HI UK Destiny, Thanks for the Intel. I am due to apply for EC from Delhi soon.

Can you kindly tell

Will they count stuff like Fixed Deposits , Mutual funds towards funds available and how much do you reckon is needed available for Indian applicants without job offer.

Others as well, your views please.

a) In showing of funds can i show FD+ MF+ LIC along with saving banks balance or do i specifically need to show only bank balance. I am a bit short on that. (2.5 L only) + sponsorship from relative.

b) They advise on showing assets but really if i show i have house in my name... isnt that going against my intention of actually settling in UK.

c) Can i get someone to gift me funds and show that as well...will that be right.

I know the questions are bit tricky...

Yes, you can show all your "LIQUID+IMMOVABLE ASSETS".
You may need to document that all properly and show all the calculations in the covering letter.

I don't see any harm in showing the house in your name...You may have property in the country of origin even though you intend to settle down in some other country.

c) Can i get someone to gift me funds and show that as well...will that be right.

I would suggest avoid this option. Suppose if they call you for interview and ask you to explain the source of this fund, then you will be in fix...

If you are salaried person, you can submit your salary slips showing the salary credit to your bank account, even though you may not have "NET DECENT BALANCE" in your salary account, your regular salary flows
(by your salary slips, bank credits) should take care of it.

Hi guys,
one question regarding EC
Is there chances of rejection for not showing proper proof for accomodation( for example: passport and visa copy of UK frnd)
I have got a letter of accomodation from my frnd in uk
and a copy of his driving license as address proof...is that ok guys..
I have sent my application yesterday on 10th april ..keeping my fingers crossed ..

any comments guys..
