I got my ILR toda!

Post by CJM » Fri Dec 18, 2009 9:14 am

Dear all,

This morning today I finally got my ILR!

I applied for ILR under Judicial Review.

Sent documents the 22/10/09.
Documents received by the HO the 23/10/09.
ILR stamped the 15/12/09 (Sheffield)
Passport received back the 18/12/09 by special delivery.

It took 8.2 weeks from the days I sent my documents to the day I received them back.

Fellow ILR JR applicants, as I have noticed most of us are getting our passports back within the 7-9 week period. Hold on just a bit more.

To everyone still waiting please keep the faith and I wish you all a Merry Christmas.

Congrats Rajj!! So pleased for you. Did you use Your MP in the End? Also can you confirm Which UKBA issued your ILR and when it was actually stamped in your passport? Thanx!

I guess I can update the 10 years Long residence list now...

Rajj - Applied 15th July - ILR/Passport Received 17th Dec *Misery Over *
Haha - Applied 24th July. ILR Issued 19 Nov, Passport Received 25th Nov... *Misery Over *

Sheng - Applied 5th August - Still waiting
Oluwa112 - Applied 10th August - Still waiting
Croydon - Applied 17th August - Still waiting
CLS - Applied 26th August - still waiting
Terriblefish - Applied 8th September - still waiting
Taylondon - 11 Sept - Still waiting

That list look so depressing! So many of us still waiting! :(. But the Good news is that July Applicants are off the List now.

The same for me.

Applied for ILR under Judicial Review (+ 4 dependants).

Sent documents: 14/10/09.
ILR stamped: 11/12/09 (Sheffield)
Passport received: 18/12/09 by recorded delivery from Sheffield office.

I noticed that the ILR is stamped on 11/12/09, but in their letter they explained that I am deemed as having been given ILR on September 2009.

Good luck for those who are waiting.

007.

Hi Tay

my visa expired on 3rd august 2001 and i got an extension in person on 4th august 2001.
the other is i applied by post in 2002 1 week before visa expired, but the stamping was done 3 weeks after visa expired. so i was afraid that if their documentation was not right, they will think that there is a visa break.
so these were the only potential problems.
my visa was stamped on 5th december, but when ii called them last week, they said not completed yet.

Hello to you all

I am new to this forum but I am also in the same boat. I applied for ILR under the 10 year rule. My situation is slightly different because I was born in the UK after 1 Jan '83 and lived here under age 3 when my parents took me back to their home country. been back in the UK from 10/99 until now.

I applied for ILR 19/10/09. Payment taken: 21/10/09. Ack letter received: 23/10/09. I am worried I have not heard anything apart from the letter. I have sent all the documentation on the form including my UK birth certificate so I do not understand why it takes so long.

I sympathise with everyone here because you have been waiting longer than me. Surely it cannot be that long a process!
Has anyone in this forum applied on the same basis as mine?

Congrats to all who have received ILR!! :D

Silk

I called up the HO on thursday and they said the application is "not yet complete". when i asked what that means he said, that it is in any stage between them taking the money for the application to sending the application back by post. In other words they are telling you nothing!

After how many weeks should people write to their MP to try and speed things up?

they told me exactly the same thing today when I rang up:
'' your application has not yet been completed''
I did not even bother to ask what it means.

I did ring them up on Friday, they said ''today is the last day of the 14th weeks, we cannot tell u anything before monday, you still might receive something by now. so call us back on monday and we let u know''

now today monday they let me know more than enough lol

i just called up the home office, and the lady said that my application was "waiting consideration". Does that just mean that its sitting on a pile some where?

terriblefish,
(I like your username though lol )

I believe it means:

1) either it has already been seen by a caseworker and waiting to be seen by his/her manager, a senior caseworker
2) or it has never been seen by any caseworker and waiting in the queue to be seen

Hi guys
I have just joined today after trawling the internet for hours to check the waiting times for ILR.
This site and the post is a particularly wonderful idea and I thank all those who have shared their experiences.

My experience is as follows: I applied for ILR (postal) under the 10 year rule on 17th August. The Home Office acnowledged the application and took the payment around the same time.
I have been waiting since (now week 18) and my Xmas has not been that good. Phone calls to Enquiry Line have yielded the same response as what other posters have said - the dreaded "...it has not yet been completed" answer and nothing more. This is the most vague response that I have ever received to any query!

I have now engaged my MP but will this really make things any better?

Thanks guys - the agonising wait continues
