What is the problem if you get your RC on an a4 sheet instead of your passport? It is the exact same?

true but an A4 paper is much easier to misplace than a passport which is why some people prefer to have it on their passport

Hi everyone,

I missed to ask a question about my EEA2 application in my previous post. I have sent my application on 06th Feb 2012 with all supporting documents and I am satisfied with all, but during this time my wife has to leave work because of personal reasons, her last day at work was 23rd March and she's looking for job again and registered herself with job center. She got her PR on 17th March which was sent together with my application. Do I need to inform HO about this change in circumstances or I shall wait for their decision.

Your answers will be appreciated.

Yes, I got you perfectly well, but we all are human, HO asked applicants not to make enquiries about the progress of their applications unless after 6months but many does even after 2months or less that doesn't change anything from my own point of view, I'm just avoiding RC on A4 paper.

As per my understanding still you are eligible for RC as your wife register with job centre and she is actively seeking for a new job.

Please email or call to HO to ensure if they need any other supporting documents. They may ask you to send some supporting documents related to job centre registration and her interview appointment letters.

I would not bother informing the HO. As your wife has been issued a Residence Certificate (and not PR. Permanent Residence is issued after 5 years in the UK), the HO already reviewed her case and it is unlikely they will check if she is still employed when dealing with your application. Sending information now would just confuse things and probably delay your application.

However, do keep proof of her activities now as you will need when applying for PR in due course (after 5 years).

no COA?

Post by jayven » Tue Apr 17, 2012 12:07 am

I applied for EEA1 & 2 on:
02/feb/2012
and HO received it on:
03/feb/2012

we still have not heard back from HO. Not even a COA! our solicitor has just sent them a second letter on 12/04/2012. They have not replied at all.

we have been waiting so long for the COA but have no news! has this happened to anyone before? Do you think it is bad news or maybe they will send the R.C without a COA?

I think they need to reply within 6 months from the time they receive the application.

Is there anything we can do?
Thanks! 8)

As far as I know, once you get COA, it means your case was assigned to a case worker. You can check the letter and there is a case number and it's signed by a case worker too.

yeah thats what i thought too

our case is fairly straight forward, got married in the uk and my visa was still valid for 7 months

but we did apply 2 weeks after our wedding which might lead people to believe its a sham wedding.
this could be the reason its taken so long, but its a bit unfair that its first come first serve, cases that take a substantial amount of time should be given to someone and taken aside so they can get through the rest of the applicants

And how do you know this is not how the HO operates?

Maybe it is. Maybe it is not. No one knows.

True but the fact of the matter is people have received their EEa quite smoothly after around 3 months (on average) till something happened that is delaying it.

The logical assumption is something other than the xmas periods are delaying applications but it is all just assumptions for now
