It all depends if u used a representative then they will most likely to send it to them. If you made the application by yourself then they will send back documents to you.

At last one good news here...this gives us hope. Congratulations mate. My timeline is almost similar to your. I did apply on the 7th of july 2012 , Received bio letter beginning of Feb and Bio sent back 14th of Feb.

Did they ask u to send any further docs or ur application was a straight success. If you dnt mind can u share with us what documents u submitted with ur application.

Thanks!

When u called the HO did they confirm your new address. After ready from previous posts here, it seems like they are reali inefficient with address changes. Make sure your address with them is where you want your docs sent to.

the UKBA is pretty useless with change of addresses... I filled out the online form twice and called, which I am sure they finally have my correct address now.

I just called the UKBA to check on the status of my application which is outstanding for over 6 months now. I was surprised because the woman was nice, but she really couldn't tell me much. She did say that if i received my biometric letter, then my application would be with a case worker now... but since it has reached past the 6 month mark that they couldn't give a timescale for it. She said I could write to my caseworker for details... but my last letter was my BIO letter and it did not have a name or anything to case worker. She then said I could write to the home office with all of my details and check. I don't see what good writing to them.
Does anyone on here know who their caseworker is? or how they found out about them?

the biometric letter has a case worker id in it wish should be able to identify your caseworker. you could technically be able to send a letter to the ukba addressed to the caseworker id and he/she should get it.

I remember when i was studying and i forgot to send some docs with a tier 4 application my uni had an inside contact from the ukba who could help forward my documents directly to the caseworkers desk. and it was done in the way i described. however i dont know if this method will work for FLR(O) since we have no contacts within the ukba

where would the case worker id be??? the first page and the top bit says my case ref #, my name and address, UKBA address and then it has a section that says
Our Ref HO_REF
Your Ref Your Ref
Date 14 Feb 2013

it just looks like there should be some numbers in there. and then the end of that letter just says not to respond to this letter in writing.

Hi tunab2

I have had experiance with my friend, i called myself for him to change the address in homeoffice which the confirmed me that they changed but after 6 weeks they sent his all documents including passport to his old address which we were lucky to get from the old address...my advise if you can keep some contact with the people who live on your old address.

i think its the case reference. either way its pointless writing to them. 99.999% it will be ignored. Its difficult enough even trying to get a response through an MP

this is a first application. And it only (compared to others ) took four months for it to come, so looks like they are slowly clearing the backlog

Let's hope they are speeding up the process, people lives are on hold. I pray that anyone who has passed the Bio stage does not have to wait more than 3 months.

Work permission while application is still with HO

Post by Drmahmoodakhtar » Thu Mar 14, 2013 10:09 pm

HELLO EVERY ONE!

I have lodged an application on FLR (o) form for discretionary leave to remain like 6 months ago...on my last extension my Biometric card's remarks mentioned NO WORK as i was student...for some quite reasons i have switched to FLRo discreationary leave despite of tier4 extension.

My question is that how can i get permission from HO for work as it is more than 6 months now that my application is still with home office and i am unable to work unless i have some documents of work permission. my timeline is:

Application submitted 30/08/2012
Acknowledgement letter 07/09/2012
Biometric letter 14/02/2013
Biometric done 22/02/2013
Docs return waiting

please guide!

i wish good luck to all the applicants
