Chased UKVI on 16/06/2017 to get an update via phone and was told that application is awaiting decision

Ive tried tracking using the GWF number but its coming up as not recognised.

I dont understand why its taking this long . Does Cat D always take the entire 6 months for a decision ? i haven't received any correspondence since my husband went for biometrics
my solicitor has advised me to contact my MP to get a status update , I'm unsure of whether i should wait a little longer or to contact the MP ? will the MP contacting them have any affect on speeding up the decision process?
