I have e-mailled BHC at Abu Dhabi, this is the reply i have recieved today as follows:-

Dear Mr. XXX,

Thank you for your email dated 18th June 2013, which has been passed on to me for a response.

I can confirm that your wife’s application is currently being processed but we cannot make a decision until all of our checks have been completed. Our agreed processing times are to complete 90 percent of non settlement visa applications in not more than three weeks, 98 per cent in six weeks and 100 per cent in 12 weeks, 95 per cent of settlement applications within twelve weeks of the application date and 100 per cent within 24 weeks of the application date. These processing times are clearly advertised on the UKBA website, and it is expected that applicants will familiarise themselves with both the process and the time frame involved prior to submitting a visa application. Our website (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... ing-times/) also allows you to track current actual processing times for individual countries and visa application types.

You can track the progress of your wife’s application at the Visa Application Centre website at www.vfs-uk-ae.com .

Guys,

My wife applied in Islamabad on 08/05/3, the status on the website was showing "Forwarded to Islamabad OC on 08/05/13 this status remains the same until today.

I see most of you were changed to "under process by BHC within 15 days of application, I contacted Gerry's, they said the application was with the embassy. What could be the problem here?

Spousal Visa Process

Post by HaroonAli » Fri Jun 21, 2013 11:30 am

Hey guys, Hope you are all well been following this thread for a year and more so in the last couple of weeks as well.

People you need to calm down as none of us can do anything as I was in the same situation last year and I tried everything from emails to all you know what and just got a general response. BHC in Islamabad are time wasters and they play with people's lives.

I applied in May and they did not get back to me till November and now things are a bit quicker. I was refused for daft reasons and now went to appeal with a deadline of 12th July and even MP has been involved but still heard nothing.

Please note the normal processing times this year are 60-90 working days while we compare that to last year most of the applications did not get responses before 120 working days and some even took more than that.

Things are a bit better now but I feel for you all and myself but we are hopeless and there is little can be done.

People who applied in May should not expect a response until Mid September or before as last year it was full 120 working days they were taking.

Again apologies if this offends anyone but it is the reality.

Have a good day.

Thanks

Information

Post by HaroonAli » Fri Jun 21, 2013 3:49 pm

Hello there,

Let me address your concerns.

1. The stages of the visa application sometimes for the tracker to update on Gerrys website can take more than 2 weeks so there is nothing to worry as BHC will have your application.
2. If you eMail Gerrys they will hit you with a standard rubbish response as they are the middleman.
3. UKBA sometimes contact employer, and sponsor + landlord but it depends on the caseworker with my case they never contacted anyone but it all depends on the ECO officer.

I hope this information is of help to you.

Thanks

With employment, I do understand the £18,600 per annum is the financial requirement. My question is:

When you submit 6 months wags slips, should it show that £18,600 has been earned in those 6 months prior to the application? Or would those wage slips show half of £18,600 earned, this is £9,300?

My solicitor said you have to either wait the whole year untill you can show that you have earned £18,600 or you have to earn £18,600 within 6 months and then show your wage slips that would reflect the £18,600. .

I told my solicitor that who could earn £18,600 in 6 months, surely one would be taxed a lot if they could earn such amount. I told him that I believe that if you are earning £18,600 per year, when you submit your application and attach 6 months wage slips, I'm sure it would show around £9,300 as you have only been in that employment for the first 6 months but he said that isn't true. That I have to either wait till the end of the year to show the whole figure or earn £18,600 within 6 months..

Confused, can someone please shed some light upon this? For those who has applied through employment route, how did you go about this??

What your solicitor meant was that if you are applying under cat A (6 months employment details) then you wil need to PROVE to UKBA that you are earning 18,600 for the rest of the year. The way the UKBA calculate if you are actually earning this 18,600 a year is they examine your wage slips and see if every month you are getting paid over £1550 as 1550×12=18,600. Stupid thing is, if one wage slip is under 1550 for eg. 1549.99 and another is 1560 your application will be refuse. However, in cat B this wouldn't be a problem as long as your 12 months wage slips account to 18,600 or above proving that you have earned that amount for the whole year.

Hope this makes sense sister.
