[quote="Eskar"]Spartec. good news now u can relax a bit. hoepfully you will get the approval letter by beginning of next week.

how come they told you or others that decision has been made or handle to case worker etc but when i call they do not tell me anything, just its not 6 month yet. i tried 2wice last week and week before. so i gave up, wont call anymore. for the record i did choose option 3,1,2

Thanks Eskar,

They replies you get from the HO vary. Sometimes they say 3 to 6 months and won't give any further information, while sometimes they are very helpful and give you a status update. They never told me my application was with the caseworker when I called last week. Yet today I got a person who asked me to hold for a couple of minutes and told me my application is complete but the documents have not been dispatched yet.

Now lets see when they send it over. As in mohamedmourad's case, that could also take a while.

Regrads - Spartac.

@ gainvidya, the council you choose to attend ceremony.

do not get confused. you will get your approval letter in ur address. but i was saying about your nationality certificate which you get when you for for the ceremony.

i contacted my local council just to check if the receive my certificate before i get my approval letters. and i was informed that they have not received anything in my name yet and they only received certificate for applicant who applied in 30 Nov to 5th Jan last week. she also mention it might give me idea of waiting time. besides, so it is quite weird how come they didnt receive certificate for any of the applicant who applied after 5 Jan where you saw here lot of people got approval applied after 5 jan, 2010.

so i think processing time vary from different council and if you even approved but you get the post late .

Nothing yet. Last I checked it was still under initial checks and yet to be assigned to a caseworker.

The time it takes for an application to be approved has nothing to do with the council as far as I know. The HO decides and informs the council and the applicant.

Regards - Spartac
I am in the impression HO just sends the approval letter to the applicant address. Why would the council be involved in this? and which council.. local or the one through whome we submitted the application
so this raises the question about point 1.21 in AN form which I left it blank
1.21 If your application is approved, you will need to take part in a citizenship ceremony. The venue will normally be
within a local authority area near where you live. If you want to have your ceremony in another area you should give us
details of the local authority location below.

Once I get my approval where will they send my certificate?
>Local council
>council where I submitted my application
>OR whereever I choose to attend my ceremony

How will this be co ordinated?

Hello everyone,

I’ve been following this thread for quite some time now and found it extremely supportive. Hence I thought I’d share my own experience with the naturalisation application (still in progress).

NCS or Postal: NCS
If NCS, which centre: Hatfield
Date of submission or posting: 26/01/2010
CRITERIA - 5 yr stay (2yrs up visa + 3 yrs ILR)
Date of debit of debit/credit card: 02/02/2010
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 05/02/2010 (dated 01/02/2010)
Date of receipt of approval: pending
Date of Ceremony: pending
Date of appln. for passport: pending
Method used: pending
Date of Receipt: pending

Like for many others, now it’s just the nail-biting waiting time left: how long? will my application be approved? I’m sure everyone on here knows exactly the feeling:)

Thanks.

Hi ninahdm,

Your timeline is exactly as mine. Good luck !

I just called the 0151 number and I asked the lady on the other side if my case has been assigned to a case worker / or any letters been sent out and she started muttering the same rubbish of 6 months time frame........

Regards,

london i heard it twice [no information can be revealed unless it 6 month old] so decided wont call anymore. but trust me i am really bad at waiting. so i contacted with my local council.

"the citizens coming through this week applied between 30th November and 5th January if this gives you an indication of waiting times – all cases vary."

this was the reply from my local council got last friday. so according to that i have to wait couple of weeks as i applied on 20 Jan. i hate waiting

good u dint call because it wont speed up your application but it cause deperession when they wont give any replay. well in this room to people applied on 18th and got their approval last week whereas i applied on 20th but havent heard anything and possibly no chance in this week. so application vary. and nothing i can do. so be happy we will get there [inshallah] may be not as gold medilist.

Hi all,

Thanks for a great thread. Been following this thread for the last few months. And finally can add my own details as the postman has just woken me with a awesome little envelope!! :D

Application : 16/11/2009 (NSC - Camden)
Criteria : 5yrs WP + ILR (1yr)
Date of debit of debit/credit card : 27/11/2009
Date of receipt of acknowledgement : 28/11/2009 (Dated 25/11/2009)
Date of receipt of approval : 10/12/2009
Date of citizenship Ceremony : 21/01/2010 (Rescheduled from 07/01/2010 because of travel plans) : Days LOST = 14
Date of passport application : 01/02/2010 (Delayed application getting counter signature) Days LOST = 11
Method used : Check&Send
Documents Received back : 05/02/2010
Interview Invitation Received : 05/02/2010 (Dated 03/02/2010)
Date for passport Interview : 12/02/2010 (Booked 05/02/2010, 1st London Date Available) Days LOST = 4??
Date of Receipt of Passport : 17/02/2010 (Issues 12/02/2010)

So in total it took me 93 days. I wasted 29 days with travel/counter signature and also not applying for a interview somewhere where I could go earlier. So A total of 64 days from the start. Not too bad.

Thanks again.. to all thos waiting.. Just be patient! :) Dont "clock-watch" keep busy and best of luck!
