From those who has received their ILR, I think yours is probably already stamped and waiting to be posted. Like mine, it might be stamped just within the 6 month mark.

I wonder if anyone has explored the possibility of collecting the passport and documents in person rather than waiting for the documents to be delivered?

all indefinate leave to remain documents are sent to liverpool - they do not go back to croydon unless you pay the extra to have an appointment and get it within a few days..
i wouldn't be able to collect my ilr as i am in London - also when you call to find out the process of an application, they often say it is being processed or waiting to be dispatch which is often the wrong information, it isnt a bad idea but going up to liverpool to collect the passport is a gamble - i wish it was as easy as that - but nothings really easy with UKBA :/

anyone get some good news today?

panda143 - are you suggesting a change or would you like to take over administration of the list?

depends on your application complexity....

in case of complex applications(like mine) HO may tame 6months+..and..in case of stright forward applications ...it should not be that long...we never know....once gone inside its all in their hands...nothing can be done....

I applided 1st November - 6.5months - I m yet to receive documents...

if it is stright forward application - I strongly recomend go for premium processsing ( use commonsense - and when i checked yesterday there are lot of ILR slots availble compared to Tier1...) - it is very very difficult - living without passport for 6+ months (in worst scenario- if you move home after you posted ur applicstion - it is not possible to register with NHS- withought ur original passport - u will be treated as temporary patient - GP will keep on chase for ur passport)..

in my experience Premium is best( think 100 times before you decide which way to apply )- I m only sharing my experience and thoughts..... WISH YOU aLL THE VERY VERY BEST.....

You are doing great job,

It was just for the ease of Applicants who are eagerly waiting for Biometrics letters. If you could make change. it will be great

Many Thanks

Hi
I got my ILR yesterday. Timelines were:

Submitted ILR (JR) application 18 Nov 2011
Payment taken 21 Nov 2011
No acknowledgment letter received. I wrote in Feb 2012 and asked if there was a problem as I had not received an acknowledgment. UKBA apologised for the lack of acknowledgement letter by return letter on 11 March 2012 and stated that my app was being handed to a case worker then for processing.

ILR stamp in passport 25 April 2012.

Passport received in mail 15 May 2012 - 3 days short of six months. They had not used the prepaid envelope that I had sent.

Like everyone, this was a waiting game. Hang in there.

Hi,

I got my ILR today but they did not give ILR to my wife and son. They said they are not living in UK more then two years. So they gave Limited Leave to remain to my wife and son. They have granted visa until 2015.

My case was HSMP(JR) Policy document. According to that My wife and son should have been granted ILR as my friend's wife just lived 6 months here and they both granted ILR and his case was same as me HSMP(JR).

Any one has the same case ? any help what should i do. Shall I appeal?

My timeline is as follow.

Applicatioin sent- 28-Nov-2011
Payment/Ack- 30-Nov-2011
Visa Stamp- 25-Apr-2012
Passport Receieved- 16-May-2012

Goodluck to all.

can they not apply for citezenship after the limited leave to remain expires? maybe get in touch with fergasons lawyers - they are pricey but have had 100% all visas excepted through them - they might be able to shed some light on the situation? they are based in LDN though..

looks like there were lots of passports dispatched recentlly - still praying for mine.. (:

ILR Granted...

Post by Skirty » Thu May 17, 2012 10:40 am

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that my ILR (SETM) was granted today... So I'm over the moon.

I applied on the 27th of February which makes it roughly around 12 weeks.

My suggestion to anyone on here thinking about posting off your ILR yourself is that if you can actually afford it, go through a settlement checking agency like I did. It only cost me around 105 quid extra, and when you're paying nearly a grand for your visa anyway, this is a small extra that gives you that vital link between you and your passport while it's deep down in the dark and un-navigable abyss that is the Home Office. While you SHOULD be able to post your application and receive it back in a reasonable time, this is obviously not the case, as you all have experienced.

I would recommend going through a smaller settlement checking agency where the people who work there actually care what happens to you. So if you have an emergency and you really need to find out where your application is, they can probably help you if you get a good settlement checking office. They know how tough the wait is, and they also know you're in limbo so they do their very best to throw you a bone when you're having a nervous breakdown.

I know that the settlement checking office is just supposed to help you fill in your forms and then post them off for you, and that is the end of their service to you. But they do have access to the Home Office, which is a godsend when you're feeling like a lot of you on this board are feeling, which is like the process is never ever going to end.

So all in all - I wish that I had gone for the same day service. The wait is just crazy, stressful and in people like oRafi's case it even affects jobs etc. And DEFINITELY use a settlement checking service if you only want to add 100 or so quid to the costly price of getting your visa. The home office can seem like some mythical not-so-nice Narnia and the settlement checking service is kind of like the wardrobe you can get into if you need to catch a glimpse of just what the hell is going on in there.

Good luck to you guys, I am going to skip the celebrations and just go for a really really long SLEEP instead. This has been really stressful and this board is a lovely place that keeps your sanity.

Seeing my family for the first time in three years next week and grateful for this board and the supportive people on it.

Fingers crossed for all of youxxxx

it did indeed - my case was difficult and i was out of the country for just over a year - huge stress off the shoulders :) there is hope

still thinking of you all in this 'stressful struggle' - the wait was worth all the stress of sitting around all day..

it came with the post man - not in the delivery van :)#

good luck - i hope yours come soon :)

Hi guys,

I got good news too. I received my Biometric Residence Permit today which confirms I was granted the ILR. I will receive my other documents shortly but at least I got something to show to the employer as a proof of my right to stay and work in the UK.

Congratulations to everyone, especially to those guys who had a long wait of 6 months. I haven't even started to worry and mine is already back which was the goal I set for myself in the first place, so I am pleased. But then it wasn't hard as it only took 9 - 10 weeks.

Good luck to all of you waiting!
