Marriage certificate is required for two cases: 1) when applying for children based on parents' background. 2) when wife has changed her surname due to marriage.

It has been more than 15 days since my passport has been delivered to CGI Birmingham. Waiting for them to dispatch it back with OCI Sticker and Booklet using my special delivery returns envelope. They are not reachable on phone nor they respond to emails. Now I am close to 2.5 months waiting for OCI for a case with no complexity. Where as HCI London timelines are less than a month including passport delivery. What do you people suggest how I can check with them whereabouts of my passport?

Hi nm,nm wrote: Hi DKS,
I believe you have sent your application to CGI Birmingham ?
Applications to Indian High Commission at London can be made only if the place you live falls under their jurisdiction.dks100 wrote:Hi nm,nm wrote: Hi DKS,

Yes unfortunetly, I sent my application to Birmingham, I think it was not a great decision, I should have sent to London for faster processing and despatch.
As they were not approachable through phone. I send them email and message through the online form on contact us page. I received a generic reply after few days that it takes 10-12 weeks for processing and nothing else specific to my passport held with them for weeks. Apparently I can track my passport is on the way for delivery tomorrow. I will let you know once I receive tomorrow if everything is in place.nm wrote:technoguy wrote:Registration Mission : Birmingham

Hi technoguy,
Do you have any further update with your passport ? Birmingham is really a pain as compare with London, I sent my passport at the same time as you and not had my passport yet on hand.

I think when you apply in person, jurisdiction rule applies but when applying through post the juridiction does not matter, I have already clarified from HCI London through e-mail.jairichi wrote:Applications to Indian High Commission at London can be made only if the place you live falls under their jurisdiction.dks100 wrote:Hi nm,nm wrote: Hi DKS,

Hi garry15garry15 wrote:Hi DKS,
I applied in london and my jurisdiction fall under Birmingham. what I have read and understood is you cannot select Mission as Birmingham(or anyother place) and apply in person at london office. you need to make your decision where you want to apply. In My case I select Mission as LONDON and applied for my application in person No questioned asked. I would suggest to read this line again on HCI web site.
GBRB (Birmingham) and GBRE (Edinburg) application/s will not be accepted in HCI, London.
Hope this helps!!!
That is strange. When I inquired through e-mail they informed me that for applying in person or post I need to apply at HCI London as I come under their jurisdiction and if I do so at Birmingham my application will be returned.dks100 wrote:dks100 wrote:I think when you apply in person, jurisdiction rule applies but when applying through post the juridiction does not matter, I have already clarified from HCI London through e-mail.nm wrote:

I've a flight booked to India for 20th of Feb. I'm expecting that OCI will be delivered to HCI on 13-Feb-2015. I'm planning to post my passports the same day, i.e. 13-Feb-2015 and hoping that it'll be sent back before my flight (fingers crossed).TilharBoy wrote:Registration Mission : London
