Hey,

Very sad news that such things could even happen.
Do you have any communication from them regarding your child’s application acceptance?
I mean the receipt and acknowledgment letter with the application number...
Try to request the FOI review with attached evidence that the application was accepted,
this should point them out in the right direction of searching...

---
BR.
Yes I received acknowledgement letter through my solicitor. Also I have email replies from citizenship about my minors application enquiries.. So I am still in shock that they said no records found about my minors application. Am I satisfied they have not lost my minors files? Sad
So looks like you have proof that they had your documents - which BTW contain sensitive information. Perhaps it is time to get Data Protection Commissioner involved to help find your records...
Yes I do

Ali do you know correct e-mails to them-
minister of children , minister of justice (direct email) and office of the Taoiseach?
I can not find them...
I am ready to send them all my e-mail!!!
micheal.martin@oireachtas.ie

roderic.ogorman@oireachtas.ie

heather.humphreys@oir.ie = = taken over temporary from Justice minister helen.

you should also email your local TD !
Today I also send the email to all of above and TD as well.

Lets see what will happen. I will update here if I get anything important.

I had sent an email to the minister of justice 2 weeks ago. Got a response from her private secretary with a reference number the very next day. I have highlighted the ineffectiveness of her department. Total lack of transparency and unable to provide with any answer why an Irish born child's naturalisation should take 3 years to process. Nothing since then.

Thanks johnpromise i wish that letter is an approval letter for you at least some relieve for you.
For others please do send the email to all those ministers and also don't forget you local TD as local TD would be usually more powerful position to defend you and reach out to the department of justice on your behalf.

It very easy to find who is your local TD (Goole it :-) )

Our childrens who were born here or even lived here more then any other country should be dealt with some respect !

Also when you email do provide your TD or minister you emailing as the minor applications are straight forward and shouldn't take longer and do provide the difficulty we all face.

I have told my Local TD that i am not alone and there are several many parents on same boat which she promise to take it to the parliament and question the minister to respond on this.

Please keep the pressure ON !!!

Yes, Ali.
Emails to all of them should work now.
But anyway, there are ready 6000-6500 people who were approval already in the End of June.
So, in my opinion , there are already all names of people and hopefully children which already would receive letters in the end of June.
We just have to wait 2 months time again.
And then, in the begining of July we can share our results to the all of us here.
Fingers crossed!!!
Good luck!!
God bless you all!!!

Got letter to explain why child absent from school for 40days in a calender year. My child was battling with chronic dry skin very terrible and couldn't even go outside for some days in weeks., some days was for medical appointments too. Any idea how to explain this for them to better understand? I just hope they won't refuse my child's application base on this?

Hi guys ,

A friend of mine sent citz application for his 5 years old daughter, last year . It’s been 6 months and he is still waiting for acknowledgment letter and the return of his own and daughter’s original passports, is this normal these days ?
He wrote to the department few times but getting nothing more then the standard reply saying that due to COVID they will return the original passports only if there is a medical emergency.
Has anyone waiting this long just for their passports to be sent back to them and the acknowledgment letter ?
Any idea guys ? My friend is quite stressed out .

Thank you all
I applied for my children in late 2020. Everything (including passports) went registered post with a tracking number, so I know it was delivered. I've heard absolutely nothing, though it's been about half a year now. No acknowledgement, no numbers assigned, no return of documents. I'm getting fairly nervous about the utter lack of communication at this point, especially given that there are no application reference numbers to cite.

First of all they wont refuse.
All you need is two things to cover up !
- Letter from your GP explaining the medical condition of your child
- And may be a letter from School to validate that the absence was due to health reasons.

It should be ok

If you reading this blog for children ! ive been saying this to all that INIS has totally forgotten about minor application as they think it is OK or delay may cause nothing ! which is wrong ! we as parents we all suffer huge time ! most of us are migrants and make plans well advanced whether its travel for leisure or essential reasons i.e. medical treatment , meeting families abroad etc.

Again Please reach out to Minister for justices directly and also your local TD and push them hard explained them how this is impacting your life including mental health !

again these children's don't deserve this !

Senetor and my local TD were even no happy and ask minister for an accurate date and i have pushed both to give me an exact date and once again i want to be clear with all those children who were born here it is not what usually i see many people mention here about "privilege" IT is their Right to be citizen !!!!! privilege is ONLY for us who've got naturalised or in the process.!!

Hello All,
I have applied for my 2 children's naturalization in Jan2021 (on the basis of Parent is Naturalized Irish citizen since 2019), children's are living in the country for 8 years.

It's almost 4.5 months now, there is no acknowledgment or application number received .
More than that I am worried about original passports of the children's..

I have sent 2 email in last 2 weeks , but there is no response to either of emails received yet.
Please let me know if any one received any communication regarding the minors applications in last 6 months?.

Thanks & regards
JimboVP.

All I can say is that you have my sympathy, as I'm in basically the same situation (including sending an email that has had no response).

Maybe that has already been asked, but I wasn't lucky to find the answer, so I'll ask it here: if a naturalised parent makes an application for a minor and then the family leaves Ireland for a few years, will the child's application still be approved?

Lately the department has been asking docs to be submitted again and again and at times the same docs as well.
So as long as you are okay to response to such requests from the department.

I received approval in Nov 2020 and sent the fees right away. Still no sign of the certificate. I enquired through my TD a few weeks back and Justice department told her that certificate will be sent in June. No sign yet !!! Is anyone in a similar situation or heard that any certificate for Minor has been recently sent.

To follow up on this, I was recently contacted to confirm my address for return of the passports, so there does seem to be movement happening now.
