@dar81 could you please let me know which number did you call to inquire. I always tried 06232500 number but never worked for me. Which number do you usually use to contact in order to get the update. Many thanks in advance and best of luck with your applicaiton.

@darr81 thank you very much. I wanted to know did you manage to get the second letter from the department? or is it that you just received the first letter and when you called them they told you its in the final stages? If you got the second letter that means you are actually in the final stage of the application approval and when did you applied?. It will also help me to understand where my application could be in the process.

It seems that for the emailing system they have same template for all the queries. I wanted to know if they got the information requested few weeks ago but got really very generic response. Don`t know why is it so that they cannot answer simple queries.

Could you please also let me know that is tuesdays and Thrusday between 10-12 the only when they answer the calls?

Many thanks in advance.

@banana07 thanks for the response. It means that you didn`t gave the expired passport.... When did you apply? In my case I sent all upfront the only piece of information missing which they requested was regarding more than 6 weeks stay in last five years.... I am still waiting for the letter stating that the application has progressed into third stage which is decision by the minister.... best of luck with your application....

at what stage they asked for the 6 weeks clarification? before the second stage?

I gave them the old passport, but maybe they did not notice it between papers, but no point arguing with them, so gonna send it without a word!

well they asked after first stage... after 1 1/2 months.... In fact it was my mistake... I printed the old form which was not having that option so they asked in a saperate letter two weeks ago... I sent them and now waiting for further communication from them... I am kind of confused now... Is it all mandatory to get the second letter stating the documentation is complete and now with the minister or it can also happen that it goes into third stage and I get decision letter from the minsiter ......

maybe if you share your dates - the same way tracker says - so we can have an idea.. the one with no second acknowledgement letter is when its for spouse of Irish citizen

please share in this format:

my stamps are:...
I applied on: dd/mm/yy
Received 1st notice of approval on: dd/mm/yy
Received 2st notice of approval on: dd/mm/yy
Received 3st notice of approval on: dd/mm/yy

I am a citizen: dd/mm/yy

I applied on 31 Jul
First response was 08 August
Second response was 10 Sept (addtional information requested)
Still waiting...

Are you sure that they don`t send the second letter in case of spouse? Any cases where you have observed it with friends or with your family......

@ saad786

Are you saying you were asked for travels over 6 weeks in the last 5 years? That is a weird request because they can't really see when you go outside of the country... Can you give more details on to what exactly they wanted to know.

@johnnyboy
Like I said earlier that unfortunately I couldn`t send the newer version of the form developed by the inis that includes the more than 6 weeks question... I could have easly said no but I visited once more than 6 weeks hence mentioned that and replied to them with yes.they wanted to know about it.. Thats all what they wanted to ask from me..... now waiting for further communication since early September....

@saad.. Im pretty sure that it takes a month (25 to 30 days) to respond with any communication between first stage and second stage.. so I would safely say that you will receive the letter (subject to all documents are in good order and you meet the conditions) to be on first week of oct.. anyhow, please update us as you get an update..

Ps consider yourself lucky to get your first stage checks within 2 weeks.. sometimes they take ages for initial checks due to applications piling in queue

Ps 3 days is the usual communication by post.. snail mail from Tip is so slow!
