Unfortunately they do warn us about 2 years, at least on paper.
https://www.irishimmigration.ie/how-to- ... alisation/
Currently it takes 23 months approximately for a straightforward application to be processed from the date it is received to the date a decision is made. However, processing times can vary depending on circumstances.

Also non-EU. Applied Feb 2020, got gardai vetted Sept 2020, got approved citizenship Feb 2022. I wonder what's the hold up on your application. I didn't do FOI or JD, but did email them once asking if all was okay and got a generic response. Hopefully you don't have to wait much longer.

Which solicitor did you deal with? Can you please PM me the details as my wife applied in Oct 20 and still no sign of white smoke yet. They sent a letter last month acknowledging they received additional documents requested and numerous emails sent. this response a year after all these were done. not sure where her application is at. she applied as spouse of irish citizen.

Please do not ask for solicitor details to be posted on the forum. This is not permitted and they will be removed.

You also do not have the function of PM as yet.

Is it normal to wait for 3 weeks?? Hopefully no delay in getting the cert. Week 1 waiting is almost over now.

Hope applying for a first-time passport will not be so frustrating. Did you apply for a passport online while waiting for the cert or did you wait until you get the cert? Thanks.

Understood. That's why I said if it can be PM'd. I understand the rules of the forum. I was not aware that there is no PM functionality.

Hi ,
Well I cant share any solicitor details in here but my solicitor didn't draft or submit any letter to the department .
I just took an appointment for a consultation and after couple of days I received my approval .
I consider myself lucky because I didn't wast my money :)
Now I waiting for the Cert .I was not asked to Return my IRP card ( they asked only for a scan ) so I can still travel if needed .

I am moving in 2 weeks. Is there a way I can push to get the cert quicker?

Why even to print certs is a slow process.

It took about a month for my certificate to arrive. Haven't heard of a way to speed it up.

If you are moving in two weeks within Ireland, you could go to your current post office and ask for mail to be forwarded to your new address. Then go to your new post office, and tell them that you're expecting to have your mail forwarded to the new address.
