I notice some of you applied 3 months before your permits expire. If I knew that was acceptable (couldn't gauge how early UK BA considers as too early), I would've applied mine earlier. :(

But it's true what globalgypsy said about the difference in time frames now. I know of someone who applied late November and got hers beginning of January. That was roughly 4-5 weeks, from submitting online to getting her BRP, and with all those holiday dates and holiday mail in between too. It's driving me mental waiting for mine that's taking longer than I expected based on her estimates.
did you got your passport ?? i am also did biometric on same date and still waiting
does any one got passport , who done bio materic after 25 of Jan ??
Not yet. I did mine on 23rd Jan. It is taking really long!
Haven't got mine yet either. Has anyone tried ringing UK BA? I know it's like talking to a brick wall, but this is really just ridiculous now.

It looks likes they have got many backlogs these days and seems no one received their BRP who has attended biometric after 19th Jan.

I'm fed up with UKBA as I don't find any way to at least see the status of my application. very ridiculous process... I am trying my luck by calling 100 times to UKBA number in a day but no response.

Guys - can I seek any solicitor help in this regards at this moment?

I still haven't received my passport, but I just received a card from a courier so I'm guessing it's my BRP.

[strike]The BRP arrives by courier that requires a signature. The passport apparently just comes by regular post and they just drop it in your mailbox, no signature needed.[/strike]

Actually, I'm not sure now. I have two people with different experiences! Can someone please verify -- how did you receive your BRP (via courier/Royal Mail) and did it require a signature? How about your passport & approval letter? Was it via Royal Mail or courier, and did it require a signature as well?

Muina - have you checked what is there in envelope passport or BRP ?

As far as I know first they send passport and in next few working days BRP - please let us know what is in your case

Just wondering have anyone received Visa Approval / BRP for those who have given biometric after 26th Jan and of Application type - Tier 2 Extending (not Switching) ?

As I said, it was a card (the missed delivery card) that was left in the mailbox.

I went and picked it up today anyhow, and it was the BRP. What should normally happen (apparently) is that you get your passport first, but if you read around, some have received their BRP before their passport, while some very lucky people received their BRP and passport on the same day.

I managed to talk to someone from the UK BA this morning (after waiting roughly 10 minutes -- I notice the wait is shorter if you ring them before 10 AM!) who said that usually, the BRP is sent via courier service (it seems DX Secure is the service of choice) while the passport is sent back via Royal Mail. The courier service requires a signature, while Royal Mail apparently just drops it in your mailbox -- I've been told the envelope containing your passport would be like how the banks send your credit/debit cards, making it look like a regular handwritten mail.

Not that I would personally know about the Royal Mail/passport part, as I'm still waiting for that!

Going from your experience, i now do remember that my passport had arrived at my workplace ,and since the post-man didnt bother coming all the way up to my office, he just left it there in the pigeon hole ( could have been lost!) . But for my BRP ( this was 2 yrs back), it was a proper courier who did ask for my passport as a proof before giving it to me. Hope it helps.
