Ok I am bitter that we are sitting waiting for my husbands to come through but the whole process is so stressful and gives me such anxiety.
It's been three weeks since application sent and waiting for biometrics letter :|

Im planning to apply FLR(M) for my wife and I've got a question in regards to english language requirement.

My wife has done MBA from Pakistan and she got UKNARIC certificate confirming her qualification is comparable to "British Bachelor (Ordinary) degree" and she got the letter from the PK university confirming all the courses taught in English.

Would that fullfil her English Language requirement or she still need to give A1(correct me if Im wrong) english test?

Appreciate your quick reply!

Hi Shoaib,

Masters degree would be accepted with UKNARIC she don't have to take A1 test.

Thanks

yay biometric letter arrived.

Submitted application FLR (m): 13th April
Acknowledgment letter: 15th April
Biometrics letter: 7th May (dated 30th April)
*also had to sign a part of application that we had missed. All documents that have to be sent back need to be done within 10 working days, starting from date of letter
Biometrics taken: 8th May

Waiting for acceptance and documents to be returned.
Letter does state that from start of application, providing all is provided and everything is sent on time the process should take about 8 weeks.
Fingers crossed my hubby gets the ok within the next 4 weeks.

Good luck all

If you have a heart, please help.....

I am so desperate to get a piece of advice. I had my ILR on the basis of 10 years. I applied for FLR(M) for my wife and two kids who joined me more than 5 years ago on my Tier 1 General. I was misguided so my wife passed and sent the City & Guilds B1 Listening & Speaking Test Results, when it was SELT that was relevant since she was not applying for ILR. So my family was refused the visa.

We have now appealed on the advice of a solicitor. It seems that the only thing that can save her is passing SELT at A1 Level but her passport has been retained by the Home Office so IELTS and Trinity have refused to allow her to book the test. I have written to the Home Office but they refused to release the passport. The appeal hearing date will arrive soon and time is running out. It will help if you could answer the following and share your experience:

1. Any chance she can still win the appeal on the basis that my two young kids are in school and for my family to leave the UK and return back could cost them an year's schooling?
2. Any chance to sit for a SELT in this situation? If so, how?

I will really appreciate your advice. God bless you.

Can someone please advise me....

I need to apply for my wife's FLR(M). She arrived in the UK on a spouse visa in 2013 having met the A1 language requirement. The certificate was only valid for 2 years and therefore expired.
Does she have to retake the A1 language test again to apply for FLR(M)? or will the previous pass certificate be ok?

This is the only issue that i am confused about and your help would be appreciated.

Can you tell me precisely what exact reason on refusal letter?

She has been refused as she failed to provide SELT. That was the only reason.

hi

I'm not sure but can't she take test with any other photo ID like driving license. You should check this with test centre. Also if she has proved English language requirement in previous application then they should accept this as it says on the application form as well. If this is the case then don't worry you will win the appeal.

Good luck.

Hi

Can anyone kindly answer this quick question please? Do I need to send the copy of sponsor's passport and biometric card or I need to send the original ones?

As I read it does say full copy of passport but doesn't mention about biometric card. The reason I ask is I'm in the middle of interviewing for a new job and I think they will want to see the passport+ilr card if I'm successful.

Thanks

Hi all,

Just thought I'd post my FLR(M) (second 2.5 year) timeline as well:

Application sent: 14 April
Application received: 15 April
Money deducted: 16 April
Acknowledgement letter: 22 April
Biometric letter & request for additional information: 30 April
Biometrics enrolled: 1 May

Just passed the 6 week mark - here's hoping all my paperwork comes back in T-minus 2 weeks.

Any updates from anyone? I know a few people have posted they're in the same application window so do let me know!

Application for extension of FLR M (Second 2.5 year Spouse visa)

10/04/15 - Application posted (agent sent on my behalf, visa expired on 11/04/15)
14/04/15 - Payment taken from my card
Acknowledgement letter NEVER RECEIVED
01/05/15 - Biometric invitation letter arrived to my agent (dated 30/04/15).
14/05/15 - I phoned Home Office as was concerned about lack of acknowledgement letter. They said that it's ok not to get one & informed me a letter had been sent 'elsewhere' (my agent). I phone my agent & my biometrics letter was with them (you have 15 working days to submit your Biometrics from the date of the letter, so I was within date still)
15/05/15 - Biometric fingerprints given at the post office
29/05/15 - Approval letter and document pack with agent, ready to pick up.

So I was 7 weeks; with a 2 week delay giving my Biometrics.
Don't be scared to call the Home Office for an update, they were lovely on the phone and very helpful.
Found this forum so useful when I was waiting, please all add your experience too! :D

Good luck Pond Jumper & LaPra 8)

Thanks for the reassuring timeline, Skippy76! Because we're the first batch of people who need the second-half of the spousal visa, no one seems to have any clear guidance on if this process is any different.

Have become slightly obsessive checking the RoyalMail tracking number I have for the self-addressed envelope I enclosed with my application.
