OK, here's the BAD news I received y/day from my MP's office.

Dear Mr/Mrs MP,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Tier 1 applications are received by our corporate partners, Siemens, in Durham in the first instance for payment to be taken. They are then forwarded to Sheffield to be registered on our electronic database. Applications are registered in date order depending on when the application was received in Sheffield. It is at this point that applicants are invited to enrol their biometrics and it is standard for each applicant to be issued with their own invitation.

Mr / Mrs Smith’s application is currently awaiting allocation to a caseworker for consideration; applications are allocated in date order according to when the applicant enrolled their biometric data. The case work teams are currently working on applications where biometrics were enrolled in April.

Applications are expedited in extenuating or compassionate circumstances only (i.e. the applicant needs to travel quickly to visit a critically ill relative, attend a funeral and in some cases for work reasons). If Mr / Mrs Smith wishes to request that his/her application be expedited he/she should fax his/her request to the Passport Hotline on 0114 207 2536; he/she will need to include evidence to support his/her request and he/she may be asked to complete a ‘permission to withdraw’ form which means his/her application will be withdrawn if it cannot be expedited or concluded in time.

I'm happy to report that after 31 weeks from posting my SET(O), I finally have received my passport with ILR today, date stamped 24th July from Liverpool. I honestly did not know if or when this day would come, as I've been one of those "5%" of applications outside of the UKBA's six month service target. I applied for ILR on 25th June, HO received it 26th June haven't heard ANYTHING from Home Office, is this normal? I'm worried that if I bother the HO officers it may delay my application!

How long does it take to receive letter for biometric. Any one send application on june, anyone recevice biometric letter for this month?

Problem is my wife is about to due to deliver baby within few week. So, if biometric letter come if she is in hospital. In that case how can we arrange her biometric enrolment? Can we call home office telling them that she is in hospital due to delivery a baby and she will do her biometric after discharge from hospital. Will home office accept this delay for biometric enrolment? She need to do her biometric within 15 days from receiving letter isn’t? Maybe delay for biometric enrolment.

So, Will home office accept this delay for biometric enrolment by calling them and inform them regarding admission in hospital?? Please give a suggestions. I am very worried about it.

She'd only be in hospital for a 1-3 days right? I don't think you'll have a problem. Besides, UKBA is taking a long time to do anything these days. I suspect you'll be a father before you get the invitation to enrol biometrics!

I hope you have all had a good weekend. It was a busy week this week at the UKBA, must be the Olympic moral boost or something!

UKwannabee would like to inform anyone who submitted Biometrics at the Romsey Post Office around April to call the UKBA to confirm they have received them as it took them four months to inform UKwannabee that they had infact not received his biometrics. Worth a mention!!

How long does it take to receive letter for biometric. Any one send application on june, anyone recevice biometric letter for this month?

Problem is my wife is about to due to deliver baby within few week. So, if biometric letter come if she is in hospital. In that case how can we arrange her biometric enrolment? Can we call home office telling them that she is in hospital due to delivery a baby and she will do her biometric after discharge from hospital. Will home office accept this delay for biometric enrolment? She need to do her biometric within 15 days from receiving letter isn’t? Maybe delay for biometric enrolment.

So, Will home office accept this delay for biometric enrolment by calling them and inform them regarding admission in hospital?? Please give a suggestions. I am very worried about it.

You must remember that BM are required to submit within 15 "Working Days" (not just 15 days) so you have about 3 weeks, of which you will see it's on post for almost 2 weeks...

Don't know about SET M, I'm SET O, mine took almost 15 weeks to get the BM letters.

If you receive your BM letters while your wife is in hospital Call them and Fax them on 0151 213 2910 explaining your situation.

I think you have better things to worry about than this.

Good luck with the baby ! They are more precious than anything else in this world, I have 2 of them !

UKwannabee would like to inform anyone who submitted Biometrics at the Romsey Post Office around April to call the UKBA to confirm they have received them as it took them four months to inform UKwannabee that they had infact not received his biometrics. Worth a mention!!

Ive applied for my SET (M) on March the 11th and still waiting. Got the biometrics done in the beginning of May as well.

It's been such a difficult time - nearly 5 months now and all I want is my freedom back, really thought that by now Id be able to be going on holiday or smile again. But no news.

I really dont know what else to do, I wish we could call them and get a relevant update on our application, at least the stage of it. Its so frustrating the fact that you cant get any information at all untill you appl is 6 months old, that's way too long. They are dealing with people's lives, can't they understand that?

I see people getting their passports back, when they applied after me, and I really would like to know how that can happen, how they operate will always be an aswered question..

I am in the same boat - why not fax them and ensure they have everything necessary to process your application? The best fax number is: 0151 213 2910. I did this and they advised me they were still waiting for my Biometrics (that I sent off on 30th March - whole other story!!) - so I believe someone is reading the faxes.

Hi Bash,

I sent a fax on 10th July and I had a letter from them on 27th July (dated 20th July). I still can't understand why it took them 4 months to advise they didn't get my Biometrics but now I know what the deal is so I'm ok *for now*!

I just thought 'what do I have to lose' by faxing and I'm so glad I did - who knows how much longer I'd be waiting!

I emailed my MP last week and requested him to get an update on my application. He came back to me on friday saying that they are dealing with the application and will have to keep patience!!!! How much patience??? 5 months on thursday...........driving me crazy.

I emailed my MP last week and requested him to get an update on my application. He came back to me on friday saying that they are dealing with the application and will have to keep patience!!!! How much patience??? 5 months on thursday...........driving me crazy.

So scared that anything I say, will get themall arrogant and delay my appliocation for even longer..

Guys,

I would like to share my timeline on SET (O) application
1. Current visa: TIER 1 GENERAL
2. Date of expiry of current leave: 29-06-2014
3. Application form used for ILR: SET (O)
4. Number of dependants applying at same time: 1
5. Date application posted: 03-03-2012
6. Date application received at UKBA: 05-03-2012
7. Date payment debited: 08-03-2012
8. Payment mode: Credit Card
9. Acknowledgement letter received: 11-03 -2012
10. Realised that there is a mistake on form, hence completely missed section 10: 15-03- 2012 (missing section sent on same day with letter)
11. Form came back to fill out missing part: 03-04-2012
12. Form resent by special delivery: 07-04-12

I had to move my house as my landlord didn’t pay mortgage (what an a**h**) so property repossessed by bank – 2 month notice

13. House move completed: 05-05-2012
14. Address change letter sent:05-05-2012 (Royal mail redirection also active for 6 months)

No Biometric letter received until 14 June 2012, so somehow manage to speak to helpline and they advised that they will raise a request for me.

15. Phoned UKBA helpline and confirmed if the letters sent: 18-06- 2012
16. UKBA helpline advised letter sent: 15-06-2012
17. Biometric letter received: 26-06-2012 (dated 15-06-2012)
18. biometrics done: 30 -06-2012 (Eastleigh Post office)

Dependent Biometric letter was sent to old address but due to Royal Mail redirection came to correct address, I phoned UKBA helpline and raised the issue but they advised that incorrect address won’t stop attending biometrics. They also advised me to send MCC form with correct address.

19. MCC form sent: 02-07-2012
20. Another Biometric letter for Dependent on correct address: 19-07-2012 (dated 12-07-2012)

The second letter states that no biometric attended , how we have 17 days, I think they have but as the previous letter was on old address, they want us to do it again as they mentioned that we don’t get change for the service but then they cross off the line, we had to pay £19.20
21. Biometric redone for dependent: 21-07-2012

I have sent letter to UKBA with all biometric receipts to advise we are all done now stop giving us nightmare

23. Date of return of passport and other documents: WAITING
24. Date BRP ILR Received: WAITING
