Hello everyone,
Was reading for a while, but not posting, apologies.

My story is not a fun one (atm, at least):
I was on a TIER 4 student visa doing my MA degree, then we got married in April in Moldova (my husband is Romanian). We have known each other for a while and were dating for around 6 months. We were planning to go back to Russia after my course, but then there was crisis and unemployment (I am doing Fashion Marketing) so we got back to the UK and submitted documents straight away. 6 months later I receive a refusal. The letter explained, that the called my husband's employer and no one picked up the phone. My level of frustration was beyond imaginable.

2 weeks after we submitted a new set of documents - our circumstances changed, as I was able to find job in London (with a COA, funny enough), but my husband is not that qualified, so he was only able to find job in a small town near Liverpool. We decided to rent two apartments and then meet during holidays and weekends.

We both speak Russian (Romanians do speak Russian as first language and I am Russian).
Documents were submitted on the 26 of October.
Two day ago (11th April) we receive a Questionnaire. My solicitors think it is highly possible after that we will be invited for an interview or will receive a home visit (although we do not live together and both me and him are sharing with other people).

I have not been out of the UK for the last year and then some, exhausted and a bit scared, as I have read that they do not treat you nicely during an Interview or Home Visit.

Will be submitting my questionnaire next week, will be updating you.
Nice to meet you all and good luck!

Hi members,

I have question for my return of passport back.

I am EEA family member since 10/2012 and holding EEA residence card. We applied for my non EEA national children's residence card in February 2016, Bio done and COA also received, now waiting for residence card. We submitted my EEA spouse's passport and my passport with residence card through Solictor.

Yesterday we call home office 03001232253 for my passport back they said I should not need send my passport for children's residence card.
Today again we call home office they said same thing and many time they ask me that why you send your passport ? I told them I don't know but my solicitor said that we must have to send my passport my EEA national spouse passport and children's passport.

I ask solicitor he said we must send father's passport otherwise how they know that children are related with EEA national.

I don't know what to do? Who is right ?
I have an emergency I want to travel.

Please help me

Thanks

Thanks! The HO did not call my husband's employer. He ended up briefly losing his job and we also moved address while the application was being processed but we made sure to keep the HO updated the entire time.

Hi all,

Happy to see other members success stories!

Hey everyone!

We could really use your advice!

My husband (Non-EEA national) and I applied at the same time (EEA QP and EEA FM). We submitted the applications in late January (the HO got it on 25 January 2016). Since then it's pretty much been a nightmare in terms of the timeline. My payment was taken two days later and I received an email after 3 weeks but they did not take my husband's payment until 6 weeks after they received our applications (7 March 2016). He got the biometrics letter a week later (it was issued on the same day as the payment was taken) and he enrolled it on the same day (so week 7). Since then (it's been over a month) we have been waiting for the COA. We have called the HO several times, were told to write an email to request a COA (and did that over 2 weeks ago, we got an automatic reply saying we will get a duplicate COA within a week) and have requested for a caseworker to call us back. We have been told the caseworker should call back within 3 working days, when that didn't happen they told us "oh, it's actually 5 working days". Monday will be the 5th working day. The thing is we already went through this whole "a caseworker will call you back" dilemma when we called a few times with the payment of my husband not having been taking back at the end of February and the beginning of March (in the first instance nobody called back, we had to request it a second time before we actually got someone to call us back).
We submitted our applications over 2 and a half months ago and feel like we have had to push the HO for a very single step of the process. I'm sure you all know/can imagine what that feels like.

Is there anything else we can do?

I know we can contact our MP but I'm not sure when is the right time to do that. There is that fine line between pushing and stating your rights and pissing off the caseworker and we obviously don't want to piss them off. The problem is I really don't know what else to do right now (especially since I honestly have very little faith in anyone calling us back on Monday).
Sorry about the long post, I just didn't want to miss out on anything!

Hello guys,

Hope you all doing good. I would like to know if anybody had an experience in requesting again the COA that had already been issued because our COA is ripped in to couple of piece so I would like to know how to request and where to!
Thank you.

Hi!

I think you can request a duplicate CoA by sending an email (with your information) to NWEUROCOARequests@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

We were told to send them an email since we are still waiting for the original CoA (see my post above) and got an automatic reply saying it is for requesting duplicate CoAs (so I guess since we didn't actually want a duplicate, they never did anything with our email). But it should work for you since that's exactly what you're looking for.

Best of luck!

Hi,

Thank you for your reply, you know what you can do is try email them again and again until you get a reply from them (Not the automated email) I did this and I got our COA in about a week so it should work for you.

It was a long journey but you finally got it ! Congrats !
Can you tell a bit more about your case ? Did you apply as married or unmarried couple ? How was the home visit ? It took them a while to visit your house.

It really was.. Thanks!
I'm Lithuanian and my wife is Ukrainian. At the time of application we had been married for only 7 month, but our marriage followed 5 years of long distance relationships. The home visit was quite unexpected, as RC was already overdue at that point. It went quite well, we were just asked a couple of simple questions, like how my wife entered UK and name of my current employer. They also asked to show the proof of income. And that was it. We were afraid that waiting time could take a year and even ordered a renewal of COA, but fortunately the next day we got the card and all documents.

Hi Everyone,

I need to ask something regarding my Certificate of Application and Employment. I Applied on January 13th for EEA (FM) and received me Certificate of Application with the Right to Work on February 10th which means it has already been 2 months and 12 days. My future Employee wants to make me a job offer but he first wants to check my eligibility with the home office. At this point I need to ask 1) How long does the process take for the home office to reply? 2) Is there any case that the Home Office gives negative answer although they provided me with a CoA with right to work? 3) Does it make any difference if I want to work for a restaurant or a big IT company? 4) Does this affect the duration of my contract? If anyone has been through this process please let me know. Thank you in advance.
