hi everyone

14 months here and nothing in horizon! i applied through solicitor,
recently my solicitor sent kind of complain letter with no reply (over 4weeks now)

i went though some replies in this post, and it seems they are all same standards replies that i have received too, acknowledging receipt of your application ...apologizing ... exetera! exetera! exetera! incredibly similar copy past replies!

what piss me off in this whole waiting thing is that some who applied at the same time as i did, got reply withing 6 ~ 9 months , this building sense of unfairness regarding the UK immigration is getting slowly on me for sure

my first time i applied for residency was in summer 2005 , now after over 4 years of wait , it seems this is just more then any human can bear

my wife is from EU and she is resident here in UK, she works and we were married in registry office

my son going full time school in September, and i am left here almost in my 40s watching standing by not able to provide for my family or undertake any work

UK immigration need to recruit people who are more human like! rather then keyboard-printer like!

Additional documents

Post by kiisu » Tue Jun 30, 2009 10:55 pm

Hi there,
I have been also asked to send additional documents, i.d. my wife's payslips and my passport. I will send everything to them on Monday speacial delivery. How long will it tae then to receive RC? Any ideas? I understand you were lucky to receive yours after just one week of sending the additional documents, but somebody else in this forum is still waiting since April. I have holidays booked at the end of this month, which will leave HO just 2 weeks to decide to give us RC. Do you think it is possible? Also, I wanted to ask if they asked you to attend interview after receiving your documents? I cannot wait to get my RC, have been waiting for 13 months now. Thanks and good luck everyone in the same situation1

OmerA,

Sorry for the delayed message:

So, you have received a letter from NWCSU.

After the apology letter from NWCSU, I have received another letter from my case worker asking for my passport (as I got them for my holidays) and current salary slips / employer letter.

I have sent them same day thru special delivery addressed with case worker id and department, the next week I received my RC.

So over all it took about 12 to 15 days to receive my RC after my simple email complaint to NWCSU.

So be prepare to send additional documents, they may ask you…[/quote]

I am still waiting, the only thing I received is an email last week from NWCSU, and they told me that the complaint is been passed to the caseworker department for action.

And thats all, still waiting since 23rd Sep 2008!

Hi Florida,

Are you EU citizien? and your wife none-eu?

Did she get EEA visa on her passport as well?

Did you get a letter from the caseworker? is there a HomeOffice logon on the letter? any phone or address on that letter?

I only received email! please let me know what else on that letter.

This is realy unbelieveable!!! What are they doing at the HomeOffice?

What was Jacqui Smith busy with? only watching porno with her husband and stealing tax payers money?

This long waiting would not even happen in a 3rd world country!

Hi,

Just pure relief out here. The caseworker asked for my passport back within 2 weeks of me receiving the apology letter after my complaint to the NWCSU address.

My passport just came back stamped yesterday :D . Today is exactly 9 months since I applied.

Maybe, those who have still not been contacted by the caseworkers should write back to the person/unit that sent the apology letter?

My EEA2 Application was made on October 3rd, 2008, and it is coming up to 8 months now.

I have been following the threads on EEA2 for some months. I finally decided to stop waiting and hoping to get a response from the Home Office and complained via email to NWCSU@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk on 22nd May, 2009.

I received a reply in the post just now (28th May, 2009, I was about to fire off another complaint via post today :) ) and the letter was dated 25th May, 2009, that 'your application will now be allocated to a caseworker for action and they will contact you should they need further information/ documentation'.

The moving of the European casework from Croydon to Liverpool and isssues with removing Foreign Prisons were given as key reasons for the delays.

It pays to complain so when the 6 months is up, just do not sit still like I did before.

Hi all
Would like to thanks everyone that had helped me on this board and I have received my Residence Card yest.

Short background:
EEA2 application sent on 16th Sept 2008.
Emailed Liverpool office and Solvit after hitting 6 months time line.
HO requested our passports & husband private medical insurance 2-3 weeks later.
Emailed solvit to chase up on update 2 weeks ago.
Was told permit has been issued on 8th June 2009.
Took them 3 weeks to send the passports and docs back to us! appalling!.

So it took around 9.5 months meaning HO could have deal with the EEA2 application is 3-4 months(if they are actually working).

Thanks again for everyone helps.

Greatly appreciate it.

Wow, congratulations on getting RC! I am happy for you.
It is very strange that so many Sep 2008 cases have been resolved by now. We applied in June 2008 and still waiting. HO did request additional documents that we sent via DHL. They should be receiving them on Monday. But then who knows how long it will take them to make their decision. Has anybody had this experience? We have holidays booked in 3 weeks time. Is it possible that HO will issue us RC in 2 weeks upon receiving additional documents confriming EEA family member is excercising Treaty rights? Your information will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Hi OmarA,
Keep chasing them up and get in touch with Solvit.

Hi Kiisu,
Chase them up and also contact Solvit.

We sent my husband's private medical card on 2nd June, they got it on the 3rd and we were told by Solvit that the residence card has been issued on the 8th June and HO were sending those approved in that week this week.

When I query with Solvit what's the delay with HO sending the docs back, I was told there was a back log at the HO mail room! Unbelievable.

So HO could issue the permit in a few days but how soon we will get the passports back depends at the mail room. Teribble.

All the best :)

Hi everyone.
I'm brand new to this forum and what I'm reading isn't comforting!
I sent my EEA2 application two days ago. I know it's going to take a while, but I have a question about traveling in the meantime.

I'm here on an initial 6-month Marriage Visa (not sure if I actually needed it if my husband isn't English. He's here in the UK but is Dutch). My visa expires 23rd July. I was told by the home office that as long as I post my application before my visa expires, my status stays the same during the application processing.

However, what if I request my passport back to travel? How will people at Customs know that I'm ok if my visa says it's expired? Will I be let out or back in the UK?

I have travel plans the end of August and am wondering if I need to cancel them...?

THANKS!

PhotoGirl.

How to ask return your passport from HO;
If your expected date of travel is more than 10 days in the future, you must email your request to LiverpoolEuro.PassportReturns@UKBA.gsi.gov.uk. Please provide details of your travel plans and your Home Office reference if possible. This dedicated email address has been set up specially for non-urgent returns of passports.

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/eucit ... plication/

While returning to UK(if your current EEA family permit expired) you need to get another EEA family permit that’s rule.
But some formers manage to get into UK without additional EEA family permit. For this you need to show and satisfy all supporting documents to the immigration officer.

Thanks pdykid for your response...

I'll be sure to request my passport back in time for my August 26th flight...

I think I received the wrong information when calling the $3.00/min help-line while still in the States when I was engaged and planning to move here. I applied for and got a Marriage Visa - and that is what's due to expire in a few weeks. We since received the correct information and applied for the EEA2 card.

So, I'm wondering about returning back in the UK after a trip during this whole process. I've read on other forums that as long as I have a COA (certificate of application) to show the Customs agent that I should be ok?

Any other thoughts?
THANKS!!!!

Hi Photogirl,

The duration to receive Certificate of Application for EEA2 is two to three weeks.
And depends on case to case.

Regard showing up COA to enter into UK without family permit. Just with COA not sure the
Immigration officer will satisfy, have plenty of supporting documents like marriage certificates.
Employer letter. Etc… that’s what our formers always recommend.

NOTE: In some country without valid visa even the flight ticket desk person at the airport will not
Issue boarding pass. I am not sure about US, so do ask other formers if any one successfully board flight from US without valid FP.

Because UK immigration officer know about the delay in their EEA2 service not necessarily all around world know about this.
