Dear Beige

When you ring Home Office, did you ask whether your application has been assigned to a case worker?

I will ring the Home Office after the general election to check on the status of my application.

Good luck.

I did ask but the gentleman i spoke to was very vague, he just said, it should be with a caseworker. In my opinion, it wasn't affirmative. Plus he took a long time to give me an answer regarding the application so I don't whether thats a good or bad thing.

You have to wait until 14 weeks before you can enquire about the status of your application.

Beige the responses you got from ukba was the same robotic ones which our predecessors got.Even contacting mp is of no use now cos they themselves are unsure till the elections.

by looking at the timeline the impression is that between September and January there were no ILR applicants. If anyone who applied between the above period is following this thread, plese JOIN US! If not, majority of us remaining in the bottom list may have to wait, pray and guess about the progress of applications for the next 3 months.

I cant wait till NoWayOut will anounce good news - I am sure he or she will receive the documents soon.

Beige you are probably right but in my view between September and January we have October, November and December, they are the actual 3 months that I was refering to and where we don't have any applicants in our thread.

Anyway, this is not really important - what matters is that we need some members who applied in those 3 months and I hope some of them will appear here soon :)

I think there are probably very few people who would have applied for ILR in those months under 10 set O category because the majority of people probably would have came here as a student and thus got their first visa mostly august -september to coincide with the start of academic year or jan - feb as some courses start then too. In my experience it's rare to find people who apply under this category who would have applied in those months....unless they qualified for ILR in august onwards but were delayed in applying due to trying raise the funds for the application.

Dear Beige

Thanks for your advice. I shall wait till after the election, say end of May and it should be 14 weeks after my application.

Dear all,

Do you think it's a good idea to write a letter to the Minister of Home Office after the election to spell out the concern we have?

A wait of more than 6 months is like unvoluntary imprisonment. I wonder any lawyers are on the forum to advise on this matter.

I agree with your statement - majority of students would probably get their visas in August or throughout summer. But 10 years ago many students were comming to study english language courses and computing courses for example. Many of those non-professional courses were starting throughout the year, in other words, had many start dates. For example I began my English language course in June. And my University course in February - some universities start September and February.

NoWayOut - I hope you get your papers soon, You are the only one left in the bottom half of the list, someone here waited 37.2 weeks , so lets hope that yours are comming, if not today, then tomorrow.
