October 2014 - Naturalisation Application Timeline

Eligibility criteria: Long Stay: Indefinite Leave to Remain + 9 Years.
Language criteria met: Trinity College B1 Test, + Life in the UK Test. ( I have been here since I was 3 and speak perfect english.)
Current nationality: Nigerian
Method of application: Post (Used NCS but needed University, Employment and Unemployment Letters to explain gap in passports)
Council name if NCS used: Newham (Eastham)
Date of application: 23/10/2014
Payment method : Debit Card
Date of receipt by UKBA: 24/10/2014
Date of acknowledgment: 22/11/2014 (Dated: 19/11/2014)
Date of debit or clearance of fees: 20/11/2014
Date approval received: 27/11/2014 (Dated: 25/11/2014) SPECIAL DELIVERY!
Date of ceremony: 05/12/14 PRIVATE CEREMONY

I kept calling and emailing about a Private Ceremony and I got a call today asking if I wanted one on Monday. I asked if I could have one today and he said he could squeeze me in at 2:30.

Now just waiting to send off my Passport on Monday, hopefully get it before my passport.

Private = Just you and one registrar who gives you your certificate. The Private ceremony can be booked either the same day or next day, and costs £85.

Public = A ceremony with other people, can only be booked on certain days, and can be fully booked. The public one is free.

I chose the Private one because it was the same day, and Public ceremony would not be until the 16th of December.

Naijaninja1000, I dey. Soonest ceremony date was 22nd December so I just booked a private one for £60 to take place on 9th December. My passport application form is all filled out and ready to go for posting off on the same day.

This will probably be my last post on this forum and website, so goodbye everybody. Its been a very pleasant journey and I think us October applicants were very very lucky. October applicants last year waited much longer, with most approvals coming well into the new year.

Naijaninja1000, i tried to leave you a PM so we could stay in touch but the site doesnt have the facilities apparently and I'm not too keen on posting my personal email or phone number on here. If you have any ideas let me know.

Sharp man, You are really on fire with your passport application ..My ceremony is on the 10th dec. I think I will do same like you...passport application just after ceremony.. ..I left you a message, check your inbox, my mobile contact is in there...if you cant access it, let me know I will post it here. hope I wouldn't be breaking any rules by doing that.

First lady from Call Centre told that its Processed and you will get decision any time, but second time guy from call centre told in PROGRESS…..

But any how you will get you are also very soon.

I am still waiting toooo I rang last week and I was told by some guy that its in progress and he went on to say you will be contacted if we need more info???????????????????????????? I am one of the 26 will remain hopeful guys.

It is only says it was successful and need to wait 2 weeks for the invitation letter.
As I am travelling next week my husband will contact them and my ceremony will be in February
